I don't know a lot about how things work behind the scenes on TA, but I would love to see another mod come on to help keep the west coast forum clear of the crap that has been all over it.
It sucks not wanting to read any threads or click any link cuz it might just be more spam. |

I'm pretty sure he means the Less Than 3 stuff like this....

This guy/girl keeps creating accounts just to trick people into going to his website. He hides the URL so you don't know where you're going until you click. Lots of people have complained already.
Also, a lot of people just make accounts to post events without having any board participation. I'm all up for people promoting their events, but when you see a page full of events by the same promoter, than it becomes really annoying and it hides the real threads.
IMO, you should let people post events only when they reached a certain number of posts, like 50 or 100. They should earn the privilege to promote their events by becoming involved in this board, not just spam it. |

I am so glad to see this! It seems like specific IPs could be blocked too. |

I disagree.
Event listings are just that - event listings -- whether you have 1 post or 1000 should bear no impact on whether you're able to promote/list your party. |

who is this Swamper loser like he knows everything ;)
i personally don't mind people posting events. The HIDE EVENTS THREAD helps out a lot. It's the bull that we were having with someone making a new account to market his own website. But it looks like that got taken care of.
Good job Bas! |
