5000 posts?! let me elaborate... :)
so yes, i joined the boards what, 10 months ago? and since then i suppose i have changed a lot not only as a clubbing person but a er, normal (?!) person.... when i started out i got into trance mainly from buying ty cds and scouring napster and ag for artists a knew, by this time id already got into that hardtrance stuff i like thanks to a great outburst last year. but when i started i had never been clubbing to a proper club, which i always wanted to do, and belive it or not, ever since i bought clubber guide to trance ive wanted to go cyber! through tranceaddict i realised this dream, as i live in a ty village in the north east with not really many mates (just gibbo) who are into the music properly or understand that cybers exist. but then i went to gatecrasher with a few of you lot whom i will probably rememebr most (but not to deter from the rest of you who are also of near equal significance!) and had one of THe most life changing experiences of my life, it complety opened my eyes to the sub culture of gatecrasher! and i loved every bit of it, even though i didnt feel as though, and infact wasnt, a real part of it, it was a culture shock and from then on i alwyas knew how i wanted to have fun, and meet wondereful new peopel along the way! so maybe i take class A drugs, so what, thru tranceaddict ivebeen able to change my life and make it much more exciting and diverse than it was before! also in music, it has opened my eyes to a hugely broad spectrum of trance, sure i still love the same stuff but there is now a lot more i "like" not only in trance but delving into techno as well. so i thought, to honour all you guys seeing as you are the most important tranceaddicts to me, i would post this little speech on my 5000th post! so maybe music discussion is these days, theres alwyas you guys and many more clubbing adventures to come! thanks for it all :) |

Been here nearly a year now....the whole tranceaddict thing has completely changed my outlook on clubbing and trance and all that. I don't feel I'm part of a sub culture, more of a community..that seems to be growing everyday. I didn't even know cybers existed be4 this place....thank I didn't go to gatecrasher in my trousers and shirt on my 18th :stongue:
I know I'm far from full cyber and all that...and I don't do nearly as many drugs as most people..but hey it...I have fun...and I doubt I'd have had half as good a time as I'd have if it wasn't for the UK section of this board :D |

I was planning to do a speech aswell but everything I say will look stupid compared to that thing you wrote ;)
Tranceaddict has not changed my life clubbing-wise (the Neo-Nazic Fake-Gabbers did that :(), but it has certainly changed my life, coz I've met some of the coolest people in the world through this site :)
The first NEC many of my friends and acquaintances were surprised that Ant and me were going abroad to go to a party and meeting people from the Net! Many people still think that only creeps, cons, rapists, paedophiles (sp?) and murderers are to be found online. I have proven them wrong time-after-time :)
I went to the UK and couldn't find any con or criminal. All I found was nice young people with just a much love for music as Ant and me have :) I'll remember that first NEC for my entire life :) Meeting Spad, Jason, Fray, Jeff and Nita and feeling as if we had known eachother for years already :)
And the same thing happened the second NEC, meeting the rest of the UKTAs (at that time, now there's a lot of newer members again)..feeling absolutley comfortable with eachother..GREAT :)
I was delighted to have 4 of you over to go clubbing in Holland and I can hardly wait to have more of you UKTAs over for a famous Dutch party :) Or a German party for that mater :p
Whenever I go to Toronto I'll make Swamper a HUGE basket with Dutch gifts (no drugs :p) cuz wothout him, and TA, I would've missed out on meeting a lot of great people!!!

Just this last Saturday a few of the Dutchies had a meeting at Mysteryland, and although we will never be as close as you guys are, it still feels so wonderfull to meet up with this group of people every time...the group with whom you share love, disgust, anger etc...the one group that understands how passionate of trance (or other genres ofcourse) you are :) Super :)
We had our first TA party 2 weeks ago...AMAZING too ;) It felt so strange! To be in 1 room with all those people you chat with on a daily basis, cuz after all...I "see" them moer than I see my friends over here!! :)
