HI guys

i know this has been asked many times before but with more choice than ever in the market place I am so confussed.

I have had some Event TR8's for a number of years now and want a second set to use also.

what would people sujest to get for around the £500 mark.

thanks
clay
the thread title says "sub" so im gonna break it to you: dont use a sub unless you plan on making surround moviesoundtracks... clubs are in stereo therefor your setup should be in stereo. Not enough bass? Get bigger monitors, not a sub. Bigger monitors for 500USD? No. 5000? Yes.
Monitors in general shouldnt be bought if they are less than 1000 imo, u might just as well get a proper hifi in that range.

lol my bad. the tip is still valid though lol :D
no monitors under (or sub) 1000USD. :p
and no subs sub alot more if the rest also is alot more. what a sentence, pulitzer here i come.

lol im laughing at what i'm seeing, if you want true dynamics with heavy bass go with KRK's. Skrillex uses them and he's big.

Hey what about those Avatone MixCubes that seems like a good idea for a second set

I've ordered some Alesis M1 MkII's for myself. They seem to deliver the best range and depth in that price range for me.

That is absolutely idiotic. There are plenty of amazing artists working with nothing more than some rockit8s or behringer truths. Its all about setting up a decent room (acoustically) for your home studio and knowing how your monitors respond to it as well as how sounds translate to other systems. Buying expensive monitors and having sub-par production skill or a completely untreated room is just a waste of money.

yeah but for under 1000, you will get better hifi speakers than monitors.

focals are awesome, threated room or not, it will help your mixes. im so sorry that i didnt get proper monitors earlier, all that time wasted on not hearing whats going on. all my tracks sounds like , and first now 7 years later i can hear whats wrong with them cause of my new monitors. ing 7 years thinking my first monitors where good enough, people take this advice: monitors are the most important gear you will ever buy! you should use a whole month payment on it.
