You could try the Wellington Hotel, they have a pub at least.
If not then you'd have to go up to either Tailem Bend to either the Tailem Bend hotel or Riverside hotel, but knowing how Wellingtonites feel about Tailem Bend, I'm sure you'd be more welcome at the Peake Tavern. Just take the B1 out to the A8 and hit up the B12 towards the Moorlands.
