So I haven't seen Tiesto LIVE since 06? .. I didn't want to base he's style purely on he's club life podcasts but hey that's part of tours name.
W T F it's all I have to say.. Scratchin Tiesto off from the "Giving DJ a chance " list.
The crowd he attracts and all that Dubstep he's implementing on he's sound was pure punishment to my ears. I really wish I could've sold my tickets but then I wouldn't have gone through this experience and would've made this mistake down the road.
At last, the set had no direction, a lot of noise, and rude freaking crowd.
It made the Dubstepers happy for sure. |

Just got home, production was awesome, lots of fireworks, fire, and lights. I really doubt it sold out cause there was plenty of room. I've been to a sold out concert there, and that time every seat was taken, plus the floor. Getting in and out was a breeze. Zero problems for me. Great job Insomniac!
Anyhow, Tiesto, his new music is blah, not feeling it, but he still put an awesome show. Everyone seemed to be enjoying it. His set was a rollercoaster for me. Some parts were really good and some were blah. If you think he was commercial before, wait til you hear him now. EXTREMELY COMMERCIAL! Come on, he dropped Show Me Love and Sweet Dreams.
I think the highlight of his set for me was when he dropped Silence. It brought back a lot of memories from back in the days. Same with Adagio For Strings. His closer had a lot of energy. I heard that Maximal song before but never live, and holy , every one at the stadium went nuts.
One thing I noticed is that this is a completely different crowd than before. I felt old lol. Apparently they don't know the chants to the songs. Back in the days, when Tiesto dropped Traffic, the crowd would TIES TO TIES TO. Now they don't. lol
I shot a lot of video, I'll post them tomorrow.
No afterhours for me. My feet are killing me. Overall I had fun, but I felt old. lol

Tiesto didn't play dubstep. At least I don't remember it. The openers did, but not him. Just like you, I wanted to avoid that, so I showed up shortly before 8:30 pm so I wouldn't have to put up with it. lol |

| Idk how floor access sold out cause it was half full but I'm not complaining cause I was probably 20ft away from him and I had plenty of space to dance. The whole show and venue reminded of EDC at the coliseum. Overall a good show. |

Out of curiosity, I think there were only 2 Floor access entrances?.. If there were 2, I came in through the SE entrance. It was total chaos in there. It Took me about 1 hour to get to the floor ( got to floor at 8:20 just before Tiesto). Besides kids sneaking tours the front of the line in masses.. it came to a point were kids started jumping down from the seating area and started to jump through the blocks, a good number of kids got tumbled by event staff and security around my area.
As far as what Tiesto was playing in the beginning and all this remixes, I don't know it was either some very electro stuff borderline dubstep lol.. but w.e. it was it just wasn't what I was expecting out of Tiesto. :) |

There were more entrances to the floor, every entrance thet didn't have a sign "no floor access", I don't know why everyone picked the SE one. |

I think you would've liked it, it was fun. Where I was at, it was mostly an older crowd, no e-tards, no shufflers, no glow sticks, no one acting like idiots, none of that crap. Just a bunch of us poor old senior citizens enjoying the show. |

For sure Tiesto isn't the old Tiesto anymore. He's way too commercialized, very Vegas. All that was missing from his set was some Lil Jon. :stongue: :stongue: Even my wife wasn't into him at all. I've seen her dance and get more into it with Digweed than with Tiesto, and she's very n00 into EDM. She told me she didn't liked him at all, but she's excited about Carl Cox. That's gonna be her 2nd time seeing Cox.
For me, like I said, it was a roller coaster. Some parts were very good and just when you thought he was gonna go in some sick direction, bam!, he s you in the ass with some cheesy commercial and follows it with Zombie Nation. Whatever happened going to EDM shows to hear new awesome unreleased music?
 |

I hate this. So many DJ's just play it safe and play the same damn tracks these days. |

That's exactly how my friends and I felt when he came to Fresno. It was like: "Woooo! Here we go (arms raised in the air waiting for that moment)....... BAM! ...................(o_0) WTF..........?" Lol! Overall, Tiesto was okay though. |

Woody: Welcome to the "jaded" club.
Now you probably understand why I retired from promotions. Just not the same anymore. |
