| I remember in 2002 everyone was saying what a year it was for trance. And most of the tracks you've mentioned are . I have some nostalgic memories for tracks from that period, but really the full-blown glowstick trance was just about as stupid in any year. |

Whether you like them or loathe them, they were popular at the time & will carry on being featured on the 'bestest trance ever' CD's along with binary finary, out of the blue & all those other glowstick 'av it' records. The public vote with their wallets.
To label all trance post-2002 as worthless, is deeply deluded-that was my point. There are clearly gonna be great records written until the end of time...whether we ever get to hear them is another topic entirely of course;) |

2002 was when clubbing started for me. got to see dj tetsuya from Japan at the avex cyber trance night in Okinawa.
you see for me 2002 was defined by these avex compilations, since mentioning the trance movement in Japan at that time, ayumi hamasaki comes to mind, also globe. globe M.I.K.E. woked together on the Bonzai label and put together a one of a kind 80's elctroish, breakbeat smasher with trancing synths and bleeding epicness.
