| People should just be excited it's at the Olympic Stadium, probably a set-up that most of us have never seen... It's about time we see something else than Palais des Congres. |

Cameras are not allowed in. However, no one will take your phone (with a camera) away from you.
I would get excited if it was in the main field, which it's not. I would also get excited if it was a single room, which it's not. Hard to get excited over 8 or 10,000 people split over 2 rooms (i.e. 4 or 5,00 per room) when you attended 1999's B&B with 17,000 people in a single space (the main field).
As to the setup, it's going to be difficult beating some of the setups of previous B&B on the main field like the lunar base of the Space 1999 theme, the stage & lighting arrangement of the Pinball theme or the Supersonic theme with its plane cabin booth. I do h-ope you get some inspiration from the Sensation White events in Europe when it comes to setups:

BeB/PP could have been on a Sensation White-like trajectory, like that video you posted, but they've been dropping the ball the past five years.
/broken record
The most epic setup I've ever seen was Black and Blue 2005 on the Stadium's main field, 16,000 ppl. For this upcoming Black and Blue, I think a good chunk of the attendees won't have Olympic as a reference point so it should be all new to them. But it's a welcomed change and moving back to Olympic from the Palais should help differentiate this party even more than the crap one. |

@ Spin: Where did you get that figure for 2005 ? I've been attending Black & Blues for as long as they have existed and they had their highest attendance in 2000. Then 9/11 happened and the attendance dropped drastically. They even had to redo the setup at the last minute so people wouldn't be spread out all over the field.
As to the 2005 edition being the best for you, that's the one I referred to as the Pinball theme. The official name was X-treme Ball and it was about extreme sports but the layout reminded me of the insides of a pinball machine with mini stages arranged like bumper islands. And best set intro was definitely Chus & Ceballos with the big wall of lights behind the booth, at full power and then gradually lowered.

Based on a review I read years ago, 16,000 was the number that stuck in my head, but the article above says 15K.
Apparently the big drop off in attendance (the following year) was due to the economy south of the border killing the circuit party, as many of the past attendees were from the States. There could have been other factors as well, as I recall the event was poorly marketed, plus the headliner was Antoine Clamaran - hardly a household name in North America compared to Danny Tenaglia who was spinning in 2005. Chus and Ceballos were on the bill as well but they didn't have the same pull as Danny. |

It's funny... every article I read has a different attendance number, but it is definitely higher than what I remember ;-)
Anyway, I have a better explanation for the drop in numbers from 2005 to 2006 other than the economy and the DJs, although the strong canadian dollar is having a major impact on the american tourists for quite a few years. 2006 was also the year of the Montreal Outgames. Chances are the gay tourists that came in the summer for the Outgames didn't want to return 2 months later for a Circuit Party. |

Yeah, that's right and that exact issue was discussed on ta way back in 2006. The big drop off is probably a combo of all the above but that may have been the biggest variable indeed
Hopefully the event does well this year and can grow to become what is it once was, and maybe even move back to the main field someday. It was pretty cool to look up at the stadium roof during the night and see the roof`s lights in the dark, it really had an epic feel to it.
These guys are on the right track with the djs selected this year, imo. |

a few quick questions...
when do set times come out?
iam thinkin of staying in downtown montreal, how far is a cab ride from that area to the stadium?
thanks :) |

Timeslots won't be out until you get to the actual event
It'll be available next to coatchecks
I would say that the cabride will be around 20$, I suggest you take the metro "subway" to get there. Very easy and directly inside the venue
If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate |
