remember this beauty?

as for the whole protest, not much is going to change wall street will keep gettin bailed out etc etc theres not much the average hippy can do about it

what i really find horrible is that the goverment keep's giving these guys money along with their bonuses etc etc but they wont give the firefighter or emt who was down there a few blocks away saving lives and searching for victums on 9/11 the proper medical coverage they deserve

I agree on the cops. Not all of them are bad though. I have few friends that are cops and they tell me stories and how a lot of those people shouldnt have a badge and a weapon. Its pretty bad.

100% Agreed. Like the banks, wall street is too big to fail, unfortunately. They rather bail out the rich, rather than the average citizen/worker. Its a ed up world we live in.

Although some of the wealthiest in america (Warren Buffet,Steve Jobs) are actually starting to do something about this (bigger taxes on themselves)...

damn!! if only i knew about this, i'd be right there protesting against this ty ass ing government i abundantly hate!!!

actually the anarchy has been going on for some time now and it sounds as if Wikileaks is what started it. Followed by Anonymous and Lulzsec (4chan), a few weeks ago SF's BART got hit with similar protest, now onto Wall St?

Not sure where this ends or where it's going but there has been a large scale uprising going on around the world from London now here in the states.

Arm yourselves, when gets real you don't want to be that guy standing around in the streets.

Mainstream media are purposely "blacking out" this event.

It wasn't so much the media coverage or lack thereof, but the police barricading the out of Wall St, hence me not seeing any protestors despite living right there. I only realized yesterday they're all at Zucotti Park. And TBH what do you want the media to report on? Their numbers aren't really newsworthy (yet) and like everyone said, they don't exactly have the most cohesive message (yet). Most of the protestors I saw yesterday had signs up about Troy Davis, which has nothing to do with Wall St.

Anyway, you can do your part by ordering pizza for the protestors!

If they want news coverage... they better find a banker and behead him/her and/or blow up.

ANARCHY

I agree with there message I just dont believe these small civil protest do much of anything unless you have ALOT of people and its VERY organized. look at the unions... now they know how to rock the house with these types of civil protest.

i saw/read somewhere that a similar protest like this was taking place in DC about a week or so ago...hopefully there will be an uprise with a clear message to create waves across america bc this country has become a total contradiction for what it was founded for by these greedy, self-concerning POS!

Here's one message they could add.

A corporation getting equal protection under the law as an individual without any of the moral ramifications we as a species rely upon. i.e. Corporations are sociopaths

At this point I think I'd rather just get a finance degree and a flag pin for my lapel and join them.

Not allowed to be? I'm pretty sure this was taken in Zucotti park which is a public space and legally they have a right to be there... and most have been released without charges (except a couple of people charged with loitering and wearing a masks and writing on the sidewalk with chalk - obviously a threat to society) To me baseless arrests of protestors for the sake of intimidation is clearly a tactic of a police state.

The protest is quite small and extremely disorganized at the current moment but theres other little ones sprouting up around the country. who knows...

This thread is making me sick.

2 weeks after the 10th anniversary of 9/11, and everyone s on cops for being power mongering idiots. Sure, they aren't perfect, and of course there are some that are a disgrace, but they've done plenty to keep all of us safe in this city. They see things that nobody in the world should have to see, and are expected to be 100% perfect at all times. Give me a break.

If that doesn't grind your gears enough, I also work basically on wall street. They protestors there will give a dirty look to anyone who's wearing a tie, not knowing that most of the people actually GOING to work while they're out there screaming about things they don't understand are NOT well off, and if they are, they didn't get there by accident. I've seen exactly how much time and effort goes into making that kind of money on the market, and it is NOT easy. Most people who work as investment bankers and similar fields work like 18 hours a day, and while they're not curing AIDS, but they're still working damn hard for their money. I've also met a lot of execs through work, and aside from generally being very humble, most of them work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's not like they sit back and just collect a check. I'll never understand why people want to break down companies that provide jobs to hundreds of thousands of people. I'm a registered dem and in favor of taxing the truly elite amongst us, but when I see things like "behead him/her and/or blow up", well, let's just say it doesn't make me sympathize with the more extreme points of view.

*breathes out*

when you have some level of authority, MOST of them will take advantage of that!! i could have some type of respect for them, and for VERY few i do, but in most cases not even a grain of sand..simply bc they abuse the power that's given to them- they, like everyone else, are NOT above the law but they seem to think otherwise. when will you ever see someone thats guilty of rape, shooting/killing an armless innocent victim, and many other countless crimes and STILL manage to get a free pass out of jail?? um, never! does their good justify their bad?? i'd hope not! its obvious they can't be 100% perfect at all times, the same way a christian can't be a saint n 100% sinless...
point-blank, don't abuse the authority thats rightfully given to you in order to serve the community and keep us safe bc THAT'S your job- its NOT given to you to be above ANYONE else!! however, 99% of them seem to believe they are and for those that think they are..i have absolutely NO respect for, therefore, i have one thing to say to them...

THE COPS!!!!!
