this'll work out perfectly. i'm still not sure how early i should leave tho..i'm considering leaving here as early as 7:30 just in case i get lost or something. it's amazing to me that the flyaway runs just about 24 hours a day.
i live pretty much adjacent to the airport and haven't been out much since i don't have a car currently. knowing this route now is so brilliant :toocool: i knew there must've been an easy way from lax |
It takes a while, since you're basically taking one end of the Red Line to the other (not even counting the flyaway bus time), so leave yourself some time. If you get to Hollywood early, you can always just pop into a cafe or bar and chill beforehand and check out all the costumes. |

at lax the flyaway is under the green signs at every terminal. its a big blue bus, makes sure you get on the one going to UNION STATION! not irvine or van nuys ;-) they only take cash, so bring some. after you get off the bus, they will direct you to the ticket window to pay for your ride.
im going to guess it will take 45 minutes max from lax to union, Once you arrive at union station, go downstairs into the main building and the red line is on your left. from union station to hwood maybe 30 minutes. so not TOO bad, you might need TWO 32 oz bottles haha! |

one last question -

| im really hoping he throws it down tonight. I had a friend that saw him at Sutra on Thursday and a friend in San Fran that saw him last night. They both said he was a bit un-eventful and didn't have any peak to his set or really any dynamics in general. Both of whom are big sasha fans. So fingers crossed that he saved up his energy for tonight! |

I hope he puts on a good set for you tonight at Avalon. I was Ruby last night and still perplexed. He played a lot subdued tracks and mixed in a heavy beat that seems to create a general malaise. I can't recall any tracks that really stood out. I kept waiting for the next one. A few times I thought he was going to break out, then he just went back into monotony.
One positive was that the crowd was super cool and everyone was up for Halloween. Some pretty funny costumes. Ruby was about 50% full but it was still fun b/c the atmosphere. |

Cassy is on already.maybe sasha rejoins us later. Idk. Sasha was almost boring. His set was too....lightheated could be the rigfht word, perhaps. He pkayed lcd soundystem-you wanted a hit. Which was cool but I don't get why...
I wanted to hear some darkk prog! All I want to here is 'schiller-ruhe(humate remix)' rofll but it's so so now. Cassy is stronger than saha was.
Bas was awesome in the barot room at least! Our brave and fearless moderator has skillls guys |

haha
did you check out sasha, bas?
short review from me-
i stuck around the bardot area until 2 so idk what time sasha came on. i'm guessing it must've been 12, as he only played until 3. i thought that some of what i heard from him was a bit humdrum, and kept thinking that it would pick up. when i finally thought 'hmm this could get a lot better now' sasha got off the decks and cassy took over. she was enjoyable, for the most part. i remember she played 'gwen maze/jef k - want you back but couldn't figure out many other ids :p
around 6 she was getting off. i thought sasha might come back on, but instead it was these 2 other guys. the party hadn't really taken the direction i was hoping it might so i got on out of there.
wish sasha would've played more! at one point he showed up behind cassy with this huge wig on, almost mimicking cassy's hair. was hoping that signaled some b2b thing or whatever. |
