| Oh yeah, and as everyone else has already mentioned, kudos to Mr. Morton for an awesome closing set. I'm usually too gassed to hang around for closing sets but stuck around for this one and it was well worth it. Great way to close out a great club. |

We arrived late, kinda worried we wouldn't get in considering it was Vola's last party. But to our surprise there was no lineup and the place wasn't all that full. Which is always nice cuz makes for more room to dance :D
Rank 1 was probably about halfway through his set. Was really really liking what he was playing. He sure knows how to play to the crowd, and there wasn't a single track that made me wanna leave the dancefloor. The bass seemed a little quiet, and I think Rank 1 must have noticed because the monitors were turned towards the dancefloor for extra sound lol. Rank 1 has never disappointed me, and only catching about an hour of his set, I can still say the same :)
Then Morton comes on. Obviously chaos going on in that dj booth trying to set up those turntables. With a record skipping for the first couple of mins with really no sound, Kris you looked pissed! lol. I felt really bad for him as I know he was really looking forward to playing vinyl. As soon as I heard Adagio for Strings come on, it was like every thought in my head disappeared. Then holy crap (like others have said) did he ever make the night for us! Haven't heard some of those tracks in sooooooo long!! The Truth, Tomorrow, KOMODO! Wow Kris, what a kick-ass set, and a truly proper way to close out a club! :crazy: :crazy: :D :D :D
Looking forward to the new venue, only been to Vola a couple of times, but I must say I'm kinda glad you're going somewhere else. It'll be nice to check out a new place next time. Best of luck to everyone behind these events, keep it up :toocool: |
