^^ actually bro, many djs (famous & non-famous) wear special earplugs to reduce the damage to their ears. As Gera said, the good ones just lower or prevent the frequencies that cause the damage. I noticed he was wearing them. I'm uploading my video of the night & you can tell by the sound distortion on it that he had the booth monitors at full blast.

It depends on the kind of ear plugs he was using. If the plug was completely sealed then he is occluding his ear. This wouldn't make much sense on his behalf for obvious reasons (if any dj is using an occluded plug then they need to rethink the specialist they are using). I cant speak for Sander, but I would assume with some basic knowledge he would have been using custom ER-15s. Anything more then that is unnecessary. If he was using the 15s', then there is no excuses in having the volume level at what it was (unless hes having difficulty adjusting to them if they are new). Hes by no means deaf, but if he does have a high frequency, noise induced hearing loss, then the protection may be a bit much and he would probably be better suited with ER 9's.

A friend of mine uses those earplugs and absolutely swears by them. They're pricey compared to cheap throwaway plugs but apparently totally worth the money.

Ya that would be an occluded set of plugs. Doesnt make sense for him to be using those. Never have I seen or heard of a DJ using them, very interesting. Its so unusual I could only guess he forgot his ER set and just improvized with something disposible or perhaps made for getting sleep on his flight over.. lol strange.
Your looking at 180-240$ + taxes for a set of ER 9/15/25s, depending on who you see or where you go. 15's are the most versatile.

Also, I'm not a big fan of his sound, but he did kill it big time as you'll see for yourself.

I'm kinda surprised nobody posted pics of the chick who flashed him midway through the set. He laughed pretty hard at it too. Completely caught him off guard.

i will agree with most of you on here, when he first came on the scene 2006/2007 he was absoultly bonkers! playing really dark and sum real crazy builds.... then something happened to Sander around the end of 2008 or so, he started to play that chessy uplifting type of trance.... as if he was chasing the Top100 and trying to play like (insert chessy trance dj here)... and i believe he started to loose fans and money....
But lately, for the past i dont know 6months maybe, he really picked it up and has started to play like the Sander of old....
I think he noticed that he fell off and is trying to fix his sound....
I thought he played awesome in comaprison to the last few times he was in Toronto.... Of course theres tracks i wished he played but he didnt, but thats how it is....This was his Eleve11 Album Tour, and he was playing selections from the album....
I will say the new album is decent but Supernaturalistic blows it out of the water lol
Anyways he played about 3hrs, i missed the first bit of it....
The crowd was up for it.... BUT.... WAY TO MANY F**KING DUDES...
I got out as soon as he was done playing..... again..... way way way too many dudes....
Oh did anyone catch all the hippies following that dub step truck that was driving around town... we followed it from the parking lot to Guv.... it was kind of odd but cool at the same time....
overal i would see Sander again.... his style is getting much better again....
