The saddest thing about all this is that if she wasn't attractive, this wouldn't be an international story at all. It would be mentioned in some sections of the media and would largely only impact the US residents but on a much smaller scale.

She is from Seattle, if it was a dude I would have cared just as much. A person from my region was taken hostage essentially.
Also, how can you argue that they did it, anyone, how can you take the evidence that was presented by the prosecution and refuted numerous times by independent experts and say "YES I KNOW THEY DID IT!"
This instant condemnation that I see from people on anyone charged with anything shows far too much of a trust in authorities that they are doing the right thing and have not made mistakes.
It is painfully clear that the man from Ivory Coast did it, and even with the idea that there was another person involved that has been explained too. A mob informant living in the area with his brother at the time said that his brother came home one night bloodied (the night of the murder) and said he and another guy had attempted to break into a house and found a girl there and raped her and then had killed her. His brother then fled the area after burying his bloodied clothes in the yard of the house they were staying in. The police, who had trusted and used this mans testimony before to try criminals and win convictions, did not even investigate his claims, never went to the house and never questioned his brother (who has disappeared altogether now). This man was turning in his own brother.
He told the police this story three times, the exact same details, not changing, with a plea to search the backyard of the house for the bloodied clothes and every time the prosecutor came back and said "we do not have the time to investigate all leads in a case like this!" |
