The penthouse lofts are sold out 6/8/12 and 6/9/12. Seriously though, the rates for a regular room are +$40 night over Luxor, where I stayed last time. Luxor was nice, but they wouldn't even let me buy late checkout. In general, seems like the rates are already jacked up for EDC weekend, looks like it will be no surprise that the hotels will be full that weekend as compared to EDC 2011... |

Hello.
Can anyone give me a run down of what I should/could expect at EDC? It will be my first time and I am trying to get a big group to all go together.
Are VIP tickets worth it?
Most aren't planning on getting the 3 day passes...are single day GA/VIP tickets easy to come by?
We may have a few gay friends who might go...is it gay friendly?
Any other tips/advice would be greatly appreciated!!! |

VIP had express entry, and elevated viewing areas at some stages, thought there was supposed to be some drinks or food also, but i heard there wasnt.....i dont think it matters if u are gay or straight.... |

Yea... sucks if your school runs on the Quarter system. Semesters FTW! Well, back when I was a student that is.
Side note: Tell your professor that you have a family reunion that was planned for the weekend. Take your finals early... then make sure they don't see any pictures of you until after grades are posted. LOL |

IMHO...VIP is not worth it, so dont get it.
My brother, sis, and I did VIP last year since it was our first EDC ever. Basically, if you need to sit down on a couch to listen to music, then do VIP. You will however NOT get any kind of free refreshments (not even some water), even though they fricken advertised it. You can definitely just find a place to sit along the crowd or to the side of the crowd. The VIP section gets filled up quickly sometimes, so the bouncers/security will even stop letting people into the VIP section for an hour or two, which is totally lame. They shouldn't sell that many VIP tix to cause that kind of situation.
Also, it's true that you get express entry. But, the event is from like 8pm to like 6am. There are a bunch of lines for general admission, and people come at various times. Thus, you wont be waiting in line too long in the general admission, so the express entry for VIP was DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT. |

Two problems here:
1. you having a source from Insoniac, as we all know how much you like Insomniac and vice versa
2. Insomniac NEVER releases lineups when they say they will, so even if your source is correct, it won't happen on this day.
3. my source (me) says they will release it no later than June 7, at 11:59pm |

So the VIP areas DO have couches you can sit at? I dunno this almost seems like it would be worth it just to be able to sit down comfortably once in a while if you're there for hours...

there is an elevated viewing area of the main stage which is def worth something instead of fighting the big crowd on the floor to get a good view. personal choice if the extra benefit is worth that much extra $$$. |
