Why has it become, popular, to hate tiesto? (pg. 2)

This always happens to anyone when they become super popular. At some point the hype and expectations become so out of control its becomes impossible for the artist to live up to them. I remember ppl didnt like the new direction PVD took after he released his hits. Bottom line you cant keep doing the same thing otherwise u stagnate.

Super popularity puts a lot of pressure on these guys. I read this Darude interview a while ago and you could tell he was freaking out cause he created Sandstorm in his basement and all of a sudden everyone was sticking a microphone in his face, asking whats next, your a genius, how did u do it, etc. So you either buckle under the pressure or you just do what you love and try to block out the rest of the noise. Obviously Tiesto isnt a one hit wonder, but he not a hit machine either.

I hate it when ppl care more about the name then the quality of the music. I like Tiesto, but I dont feel the need to chant his name and love every tune he does.

I personally don't care if people like Tiesto or not, and I don't give a . The thing is if any of these people met Tiesto in person, they would probably have a new favorite DJ, beause he is one of most down to earth people I have ever met. And most people on this board didn't know Tiesto before Magik 6.

Amen and another problem is that a lot of the peeps on the board didn't see/hear Tiesto live when he is spinning the wheels. They only hear downloaded live-sets. U have to exprience a set of him at a party and judge him afterforth.

And I agree he is one of the few big-dj's, who is down to earth. Because I went to his recordshop and he was spinning a few records and I wanted to listen to some cd's and records and he took the time for me to help me on the way, because everbody that works there were busy with something else.

I've been following Tiesto since around the time he was just rising to fame (when he first played @ Innercity). Lately he hasn't been producing stuff as magikal as he once did but that's no reason to hate the man. I'm sure if u were touring the world and as highly demanded as he is you wouldn't have as much time to stop @ record stores and buy vinyl as you once used to.

People who use that argument are ing morons, no offense. If we didn't have mp3 access and ripping groups we would have no idea of what he was spinning at all his gigs and get sick of it for his 'lack of originality'. Probably 99% of the crowd at these live events don't know what he is going to spin, and they are blown away by it.

My 2 cents.

Look at his sets, they have been the same since the beginning of the year. With one or two tracks varying each time he plays! I used to like tiesto, but now i just find his sets lack uniqueness and originallity.

How often do you see TIESTO ? dont you see that he introduces the new sounds to different crowds in different places ? is the internet that has us with access to all livesets ( almost ). So I guess it would be best for you not to download his sets and see him live, its logical.

I've recently noticed, that a lot of you people, think that its fun to on tiesto.

I personally, dont see why eveyone hates him/dislikes him *or at least, this year* All his sets, are amazing, and to me, thats all that matters. Who really cares, if he is ''a popstar'' now? man, .

Grrrr.. :D

quite the contrary, if you hadnt noticed its become popular to LIKE tiesto, but of course if you like tiesto and are blind to his current inadequacies both in the studio and on the decks then i wouldnt expect you to notice it.

probably as much as you die hard tiesto-ites in america. the only time he ever played a good set was at NEC, again the mixing was poor but he played a much MORE trancier set and completly different to the rest of the stuff he plays normally!

The fact that Tiesto isnt my thing (no more), makes me listen to other Dutch DJ's like Armin to see how they are doing.

It made me a big Armin fan.

So in a way I like to thank Tiesto for slipping away...

Paul is still the king.

btw: thanks to Tiesto's lack of powerfull sets I now even enjoy Westbam like never before!

Everytime i've seen him he's been very good. I think his sounds are changing, certainly in the studio. I used to like his earlier productions, such as The From Norefjell for example. Maybe people don't like change, although i haven't seen him live for a year i wouldn't know of his Dj'ing has changed much.

Ive been listening to tiesto since Innercity 98. Hes changed his styles around a lot lately, not always to my liking, but he always stays consistant in my book, and plays a great set. Honestly I think he should really go on a great big record shopping spree and put a few fresh tunes in his bag, but remember he has to play for the crowd in front of him, not for the people listening at home. I would certainly go nuts if I heard him play live, but Id probably be dissapointed if I didnt hear activate/southern sun/ira/ect. Just remember that a DJ cant please everyone, and he cant play a thousand different styles. Dont walk into a chineese resteraunt and expect to order a burger :D
