System-J, you make very unique and fabulous mixes. I am quite positive that it is not only me who enjoys listening to the mixes that you post here on TA. Each mix has great track selections, a strong buildup, and it can deliver some very powerful messages to the listener through the work of your efforts. It's not just one mix that we enjoy, but numerous ones. I'm sure many people at TA respect and appreciate what you have done. Not only have you established yourself as a very refined, knowledgeable, and talented individual here at TA, but you have also built a fine reputation of yourself. People know you, and some may even have you in high regards. You may be the subscribed one in a person's musical preference. With a reputation such as yours, it might be in your best interest to think twice about what words that you project sometimes. When you have people who respect you and have you in a higher regard, they might be driven away sometimes and lose respect for that person by what the person might say, do, act, or feel upon. In this case scenario, it is highly suggested to rethink things over, and take into account if what you are saying is actually worth mentioning.

Sad but true, there are generally no individuals here in the states, specifically San Jose, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or any other major city in certain the facet of EDM city cliques and fans, listeners, groups, or artists who even have the slightest potential interest of listening to Magik / ISOs sound. I was watching one of his concert videos at the Home Depot center, and he was constantly on the mic during his set saying things like "Hello LA! (or whatever city he is in) How's everything tonight? This night is proof that we made history, that dance music is the best thing in the world. And how does it feel, to be a part of history?"
I don't what he's up to but whatever. Just interesting to discuss.
@System-J: I'll work on it. Must apologize on my part too, I don't really know if I'm pushing it or anything. So it's a good thing you at least spoke and and told me before I did anything more stupid. In any case, the reason I target Tiesto is only because there is a lot of interesting speculation and questions that pop into my mind. I guess I should just let it go though.

While it might be interesting, I just don't think it serves a useful purpose. I agree that the guy lacks artistic integrity and has likely made a fool of himself. Focusing on his lack of talent, however, seems to suggest that you think his faltered artistic integrity is something he can or is even willing to correct; and failing that, he should just get out of the business, altogether.
The guy is a mainstream music industry brand and not the first of his kind, either. He's packaged like a pop-star because that's what he is and there are very, very few pop-stars with the actual talent to match their hype. You may as well be criticizing Scope or Tide for not being "original" and "selling out." Neither those companies nor businesses of the music industry really care. For the most part, they are interested in the revenue stream.

(More) On topic, like Bierheld I also don't read it like that and to me it doesn't sound strange at all. Tiesto IMO knows what he is talking about looking at his age and what he witnessed in the 90's and being part of the scene then.
When Tiesto speaks of 'rave' first thing I'm thinking of is 'Mayday', but probably he is even more referring to the hardcore scene were drugs was like normal.
When he says the music sounds mature then I think he says that it will not be getting better from a technical point of view. That's in line with my own opinion that I don't think we are going to see spectacular changes or developments in the near future, although many seem to be waiting for that.
I don't understand why people think so much about what a DJ or artist in general says or what he/she could be trying to say. My former boss is an Alice Cooper fan, what he thinks is behind Alices lyrics probably is far more than Alice can imagine in his worst bloody headrolling nightmares...
My excuse is that when I'm at TA it's after a long day working, being tired and lack of sleep because our little one wouldn't sleep....

yes, tiesto doesn't get "only" the drug-related people anymore, he's managed to add some of the worst segments of society to his crowds: guidos, the dubstep herd, and pure trash

Is Tiesto even necessarily still considered among top tier pop dance celbritydom?
It seemed as though his influence and commercial sway in the Dance community just continuously began to wane and wane since Elements of Life, to the point where his change in direction possibly reflected his own awareness of it.
Then again, maybe it was just the attention I was paying to him just waned and waned since Elements of Life.
Also, can we get some kind of 'one-night-only' review session over on Trancecritic? Just Sykonee and SYSTEM-J issuing their reviews of something particularly relevant to whatever direction Dance music has taken following the last submission to that site.
