not wanting to be a hater, I listened to markus radio show today and was surprise, hes actually way better than I remember him being in the past. hes definitely a major cut above armin in the quality stakes that much is true. theres some fluffiness to what he plays but theres also more sophistication and some darker elements too which is overall a nice balance. I have to eat my words and say his track selection was pretty good. Im into the harder sounds myself but as far as the commercial trance djs go like armin, gareth etc, markus definitely has the best sound of the bunch (other than oakenfold whos been caning the psy lately). |

As good a point as this is, your still just judging him from one show? which is whats wrong with allot of the concenous these days,.. people need to stand back and not judge to soon and just listen more, what someone plays in one set might be very different from another, so to try and not get boring. In general if people dont like what they hear, well then dont listen to it or at least dont bash or at least try to appreciate other peoples tastes |

not saying hes my new favorite dj, just saying that the shows I listened to today were a cut above the absolute crap that armin, above and beyond play on their shows. it was also better than what Id heard him play in the past. |

Thats why i listen to allot more progressive trance these days than uplifting and tech, because there seems to be allot more creativity, less predictability and less rules to follow for producers |

I cant do the uplifting either, its revolting to me. I listen to a lot of psy influence trance which djs like j00f, christopher lawrence play. they pitch it down and its magic, reminds me of when progressive house had balls but even tougher. it has such an incredible groove, it really travels and is super hypnotic, nothing like the crunchy psy from years back. |

I already saw it coming in the 90's, trance replacing Eurodance, and yes a very commercial version of it.
IMO there is nothing to retreat or heal, this is the way it is. Accept it, neglect it and search for what you do like. The most popular DJ's always will be liked by most of the mainsteam, otherwise they never will get enough votes to win. |
