lol. not loud enough for bass. How loud does a synth have to be to be a proper bass synth. Again you are talking bull. The point is that the OP is a noob. ,WHy would he know that. It isn't obvious and if that were a joke, well any normal rational person would supplement it with something , a smiley for sakes. You give absolutely no indication. And the issue with the jp8080 is not its output level. Why can't you own up to giving bad advice. Is it really that hard for you to be wrong ? This whole , oh it was a joke is like Herman Cain saying, oh that about the electric fence, it was a joke. Of course at the time I said it, i was dead serous not showing the slightest sign of a smirk that would give someone the faintest idea that hmm this is a joke.

You are talking to someone that knows humour. And that was not a joke. Nobody here but you sees it as a joke. Not that you were joking. You were trying to be part of the hey i own hardware so I can give hardware advice and be super cool club. And you were called on it. I mean on the same ing page , your post about how much you luv your jp8080. No mention of those deficiencies. You defend its filtering capabilities which is ing funny and say it isn't just for leads and pads. hmmm maybe you were talking about bass ? How do you say the you say with a straight face.

omg why do you write so much instead of keeping short and simple and to a point. I guess god didn't make you that way, too bad. Now you said you had a jp8080 and never plugged in it in it seems because the output is so low when it comes into the A/D stage thats its completely useless unless connected to a pre amp

wow why do i bother
Looney4Clooney
so how loud does a synth have to be then ?

You realize bass guitars , yup BASS has a rather low output. Does that disqualify it from being used as a bass ? The output level and how you think that is remotely important given that recording in 24 bit makes your so called low level issue not an issue. Any soundcard will have a preamp. You are making an issue over something that isn't an issue. YOu are fumbling for any reason to defend something that honestly i can't figure out why you are defending. The point is that you made a suggestion that no normal human being would take as a joke.

The jp8080 is not a great choice for bass because of the sonic colour. Thats it. it actually does that zimmer styled pluck bass heard in many movies rather well. But as a bass synth ? Awful suggestion.

You aren;t recording a ing bass clarinet where noise floor might matter. it is a synth. You could get levels at -25 dBfs and be fine. it , you could get levels at - 40 and still be fine.

So here you are again talking complete bull. The output level has no ing bearing on its sonic quality. A moog with similar output level would not make it a bad synth for bass.

you are so ing stubborn it is painful. Any excuse to mask your bull.

you prove to me that you never touched a jp8080, the output is so low can barely hear anything

ima just put you on ignore cuz you won't leave my posts alone cuz it pisses you off and i wait to reply again with the jp8080. Face it you have mental problems and it seems everyone is starting to know that

Edit if you say the j8080 caaan do bass then wtf you know i was joking then
meriter
If I had $500 to spend on a synth again I'd by the virus B again, although honestly I'd use something else for sub-bass. Mopho is probably your best bet or the Tetra if you get lucky and find someone late on their bills...

Damn, everyone seems to be getting rid of those TI's.
Looney4Clooney
lol um either your synth is broken, or you haven't figured out the volume knob, or have a broken soundcard.

lol i know i said it for laughs

Looney4Clooney
no you didn't.

and your reason for it not being for bass is based on the fact that you probably have a unit suffering from an issue that wasn't that uncommon ie the output level. That isn't normal and not a valid reason to say oh this isn't made for bass. First off, your unit is broken because output levels are not an issue in a functioning jp8000.

You can't even explain why it would not make a good bass synth. You are ing clueless. Dumbass with a broken synth preaching how great it is at everything expecting people to assume it was a joke. Your track record isn't great. You were going to buy a radias for sakes. That wasn't a joke. Or was it ? You have no prior history of making jokes in such a dry manner.

I've owned both the rack module and the keyboard. output levels are not a problem. That isn't why one would not consider it a go to synth for bass. if you need a preamp to hear it, your unit is broken. You have owned 2 synths in your lifetime. both acquired what in the last few months yet you call others noobs. One of your units is broken and you haven't figured that out ? And i'm the noob ?

dude stop bullting.
