Uptown kitchen at the top of her stairs. Asked if I could mix in with her affairs. Shared a smoke, made a joke, then grasped and tugged for a leg of hope. I'd memorized some words to hypnotize her with, but it just made my mouth exercise.
They'd all fail the magic prize. There would be nothing I could say when I was in her thighs. I knew I'd have loved to love her as I regarded her like a lover. The city was restless, I was ready to pounce, to go right there in her bed room, ounce to ounce.
I gave to her, a decision to make. Things to lose and things to take. We were just about ready to cut it up. She said, "Wait a minute, honey."

I'm in a six year relationship and think I want out. But I'm also a very lazy person, and would rather not face all the emotional discord and practical inconvenience that breaking up would involve.

| I was with my bf for 4 years when I decided I needed space/time/whatever. I didn't date or screw a lot in the 2 years we weren't together, but when I finally did attempt a relationship with someone else, that was all it took to send me back to my ex. We've been together ever since. I think I'm too independent and strong willed for most dudes. |
