Those drives are amazing. The g is also tiny and damn robust. Only problem I've ever had is that very occasionally (I mean once a month maybe) it isn't mounted when I boot up so i just flick the power switch off/on and it's back.

Also has way faster file transfer that my western digital or seagate external drives.

You think i'll likely run into any problems with the bus power chaining it with another drive and the MOTU audio interface?

I don't think there should be any power problems, but are you planning to daisy chain them, one after the other?

I.e. G-drive then other drive then Motu interface, all on the same firewire?

If so, not a great idea. Drives daisy chained are OK, but multiple drives and an audio interface all on the same FW buss can get a little glitchy when you start maxing out the channel count and using all that data bandwidth. That interface is going to be using a lot of bandwidth then the computer has transfer all that data on the same buss to those drives.

a colleague told me today that they will be around at least until 2014. He said that his is on paper. Still, the fact that they have a set number, well i guess business plans always have a number. ANyways, i trust the guy. He is the guy that gets me all that free mac stuff. And no , he doesn't work the Genius Bar. He doesn't work for apple at all. But he is in bed with them. He is also half japanese and i don't think the japanese lie. You need a soul to lie.

Hi there, Speaking of death prediction, I find it really odd that one of the on-line death prediction services showed me the same death date that I was foretold in my dream about a year ago. http://yourdeathdate.info/1/index.html - I can’t explain this coincidence in any other way except that there must be some kind of magic involved here.

Lemme guess: Death through Spam?

I don't think that.
I checked this webside: http://yourdeathdate.info/1/index.html
and now I know, I can suppose when I die.

It's nearly clever.

What are we gonna do when we can't tell bots from humans?

Wait a second.....how do i know you're not all bots? :conf: :nervous:

Have I spent the last 10 years talking to a simulation. Gulp.

I recently watched something on Discovery where a scientist had claimed that he'd calculated that was at least as likely as there being a divine creator.

Although it pretty much boils down to the same thing.

I'm just hoping that I can live in a CGI world when I die. Wait a sec, so that'll be like a pixelated heaven right?

Don't go there. I was watching this on PBS the other night, and basically, the top quantum and astrophysicists at the moment reckon that life as we know it is more than likely a kind of holographic projection hosted on the surface of a black hole. In fact, everything that we think is real and current, has already happened and this is just kind of a fleeting echo of expelled light, trapped on that black hole's surface. :nervous:

I am so glad I was not cained while watching that.
