Justin Bieber is doing dubsept. Hate the genre or not, Justin dabbling in it make the whole EDM scene go to . First Paris, now this? All we need is Kim Kardashien (how ever you spell it) singing trance vocals and we're done.

| Instead of getting upset about people who enjoy music that we don't even listen to, why don't we just ignore it and keep paying attention to actual good music? There's too much quality to keep getting hung up on this nonsense. Give it a chuckle and move on... |

I like these kind of threads. Allows me to vent out frustration and talk .
Plus it allows me to check back and look at something on TA as opposed to the usual threads ie. Escape review, NYE, Billy just farted.

I get that. It's an interesting topic and worth talking about, I just think the melodramatic "sad day for EDM" wailing is dumb.
With that said, for as much crap as we give it for being mainstream, dubstep kids still think it's pretty underground, at least if youtube comments are any indication. It will be interesting to see if Bieber doing dubstep would be enough to ruin the genre's credibility in the eyes of its fans. Dubstep has blown up massively but the genre has clearly been feeding off its "cool" status up to now. Has it reached "trance status" where it can survive if all the cool kids stop listening to it? |
