High school locks down four toilets, leaving only one available for 600 students

The school wasn't at a loss for loos, though. Administrators kept four other fully operable bathrooms locked up to prevent kids from misbehaving and getting violent in them, according to staff and students.

I'll be honest, both high schools I went to in the US did this as well, except we had over 1000 students. The school said it was to keep kids from misbehaving in bathrooms and to encourage them to not be late (class changes lasted 3 minutes). The bathroom was locked during class time and unlocked for the class changes. I always just held it until I got home, and honestly, until I read this I thought this was a normal practice in US high schools.

Sounds dumb, but I never thought a high school could have doors on the toilet entrance.

All the ones I've seen were open but concealed by cleverly placed privacy corners.

The high school I attended kept its bathrooms open all right, but they never cleaned them, so they might as well have been closed as far as I was concerned. Fortunately, I spent very little time there, so it was generally a non-issue.

I think I can count on my hands the number of times I used the bathroom in highschool... at least outside of the locker rooms (which were generally nicer bathrooms).

In 10th grade they caught a girl (I think she was a freshman :wtf: ) doing anal in one of the stalls in the basement bathroom with two boys. When she saw the teacher she screamed rape but later recanted (not before the two boys were arrested and charged with rape and sodomizing a minor or something horrible though). :stongue:

My high school's bathrooms were always open. And fairly clean, too.

At a nearby high school, a kid brought a gun to school and blew his brains out in one of the bathrooms.

One time, and I don't know how he did managed to do it with the three minutes the bathrooms were open, some kid ripped off a sink in the boy's bathroom during class change. :wtf:

On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.
