I'm well aware that "germ" is a really general word here, and that's intentional.

Ever wonder if all that we are is carriers for germs? I mean quite literally - they are what it's all about, from the bacteria within us that help us, to the would-be intruders seeking to cull us, germ interaction is omnipresent. Indeed, comparisons can be made about our own viral habits and avarice, but that's not quite what I'm talking about. What I mean is: Do you ever wonder if germs are indeed running the entire show? Like we are just their kind of zombie transport devices, and they have evolved around us (and other animals) with the sole intention of facilitating their little bacterial empire?

Think about it - the overwhelming majority of human behaviour was conceived for the sole purpose of socializing and gathering, interactions which thrust us into contact with one another are seemingly vital to our proliferation. Music as a means of communication to facilitate fertility rituals, etc. Eating together to ensure the desirable transmission of bacteria and their own internal interactions. Just the same, insanity and consequential depression cut us off from others - from bacterial interactions - and so suicide is actually a chemical punishment to displeasing the will of the ubergerm.

The chemical interactions and stimulus between human beings could just be an elaboration machination of their own evolution, with the aim of bringing them places, and doing things for them, so that they might mingle and diversify. You always hear about how a virus could mutate and kill off our entire species in some apocalyptic scenario seemingly on the brink of happening every day, but perhaps there is a reason that hasn't happened yet! PERHAPS THE ENTIRE COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUSNESS IS A COMPLEX RUSE OF IMPERCEIVABLE SIGNALS AND PHEROMONES SPECIFICALLY CONCOCTED BY THE MOST INFINITESIMAL OF ORGANISMS TO CONTROL THE WHOLE OF HUMANITY.

AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Have you been watching Joe Rogan's stand up?

I know, I just like that scene.

Definitely an interesting idea. The obvious problems would be the human invention of antibiotics, antivirals, vaccines, etc. I guess you could make the case that the human tendency to avoid disease actually increases the chances of contracting one, or at least allowing for various microorganisms to become immune to our defenses against it.

I've always wondered which will come first; human invention creating a medication/vaccine/method of eradicating all diseases, or a disease coming to be that eradicates all humans.

No, does he talk about this too?

Or perhaps it is the design of symbiotic bacteria to puppet us into killing off rival bacteria. We're just the rope in a filthy game of tug-of-war!

Neither; the germ powers that be will see to it that their harvest is sustainable; complacent under the perpetual guile of hope.

Yeah sort of.

And the good bacteria have pulled our strings into advising that people not use too much anti-bacterial hand washes, and that probiotics are so beneficial. :nervous:

no. i just think there are different scales of existence (in size). kinda like this: http://htwins.net/scale/

except i have a personal theory that it continues in both directions infinitely...
