| Skrillex is more worse than Tiesto, Schulz, Armin and Ferry Corsten combined. |

| Skrillex has done for Electronic Music what Kenny G has done for Jazz. |

I like some his music and respect his dedication to the craft. |

I listened to Skrillex - First of the Year on repeat 5 times when I first heard it.
Haven't listened to it since and don't plan to. |

Let's put our cards on the table here. Insofar as horrific, obnoxious, overloud teenage brostep subsidiaries go, he's alright. I've safely avoided hearing any of his music in a club thus far, but I can imagine tracks like that Bangarang one are quite fun to dance to. I also heard another track of his that sampled Mortal Kombat and that also sounded quite entertaining in a totally moronic way. I guess it's because those track combine the stupid brostep loudness with a 4/4 beat at a danceable tempo, so they actually have some energy to them. When you combine all that with a typical half-step beat you just have no energy whatsoever, just a lot of 18 year olds wearing stupid sunglasses slow-skanking to what sounds like the death throes of some agonised obsolescent rusting super-robot of the future.
What I don't get though, is all the ing Skrillex threads you people keep making. Always the same: "Hey, what do you guys think of Skrillex?" What are you trying to achieve here? It's not like Skrillex is some obscure artist you're alerting our attention to. He's about the third most popular electronic musician in the world. Go ask your classmates this question. This is a ing trance forum. If it was made after 1998 and Oliver Lieb didn't at least rub his dick against it, we don't give a . |
