this is a roll call thread also.
alright so just to be clear, roll call threads are permitted when they are opened less than 7 days before the event? and no caps at all in the title?
yes!! its all in the forum rules ;)
And usually a roll call can't be opened by the event promoter, but it's Maher's bday ;)
:p :p

maher is not stereo's event promoter. he is not a promoter at all. he is their talent buyer, mainly for friday nights, and their resident dj. c tout.
the promoters at stereo all use facebook for their purposes so if nobody is gonna post it on forums, then someone has to do it to get the word around, that's all.
it's ok though malek. from now on, i'll try to do all the posting of events for maher (inside and outside of stereo events, because he does play elsewhere too). or am i not allowed because i'm his girlfriend? :p
Big Boss
I didn't go on Friday and heard it was really busy. Dubfire is a pioneer in the scene, going back to the Deep Dish days.
On Saturday at Calderone, the club sounded amazing. I think Calderone was using the same mixer that Dubfire used on Friday.

That is one of the reason why for sure. Deep Dish were huge in Montreal and beloved by all. It started back in the late 90s. Sona, Aria, beb...they were regularily on the front page of Nightlife mag back then.
These days I think there's also a large pool of younger arabic partyers that follow him. They go out in huge masses sometimes, girls and guys, great crew and they party hard!!. Not sure if they were there last Friday but I've seen them out supporting Ali on a few occasions.

oh man you have no idea!!! they are alwayssss out on most fridays at stereo...i'm sure saturdays too but i can't say for sure...
i think this stems partially from the fact that mtl is a university city...and lots of our international students come from middle eastern countries, so every 3-4 years, after the last batch finishes their BAs, there's this new generation of new party-goers...many of which may not have access to places like stereo and circus back home...so they go all out when they are exposed to afterhours culture for the first time, and i mean ALL out...
but ya, ali is of iranian background...lmao at ur comment pascal "but they think he's arab"...hahaha, it's so true.

Ever since he branched out from Sharam...he's blown up. The dark and twisted side of Deep dish. I've seen one off night from Dubfire which was last year. This past March was one of my best for 2011. 2007 GU Taipei Tour @ ((()))was another big one for Dubfire. I remeber both these tracks coming on.....MMM
