Back when he was slamming trance and techno, his transitions were mostly cuts do to the dynamic structures of the tracks.

Levon Vincent played a vinyl only set when I saw him and he killed it.. no effects or any bull, just straight EQing. fantastic.

what does Mark Oliver have to do with Sven Vath, and secondly: when has Mark Oliver ever been good except in the 80s and 90s?

thirdly, if you are talking about Mark Oliver's ability behind the vinyl spinners, then it's because he plays the same sets every goddamn night, track for track.

5-10 years ago effects were da bomb and everyone was getting out of vinyl into this EFX unit & CDJ & laptop direction. the reason was because straight 2-deck action was boring and repetitive. a strange comment in a strange time.

He pretty much only spins vinyl, all of the time since then, and that's not true.

i highly doubt he has to think about it...it's his style. don't you have a mixing style of your own?

How does this man get away with mixing the way that he does? I'm in awe.

Its like during any given blend he's about 16 beats away from total silence

same reason he gets away with stuff like this :D Forever a legend.

Couldn't you have just ignored his comment?
