Too bad PvD has not been good for YEARS. He just hasn't been around that much the past few years. He still hasn't gotten much better.
He doesn't deserve any hype right now. What has he done lately. oh right, nothing!
If I had the chance to book, I still would knowing all the suckers out there. This thread has a few of them, I see! |
When was the last time you saw him live? He has only been on the west coast a handful of times in the last 5 years, with barely any club appearances with the exception of playing at 1015 Folsom every now and then, and I can't really remember him playing a set that was that bad, or even mediocre. IMO he was always in between ok and spectacular. Maybe one exception was his last Vanguard set during his "In Between" tour when he cheesed it out for an hour while Jessica Sutta danced around and did her thing.
Check the TA threads for the last 3 times he played @ Mansion in Miami. There was UNANIMOUS agreement that he RAPED it all 3 times, with the most recent set being the best and garnering the best reviews. He played a LOT of new tracks that I had never heard before and the energy and programming was consistent throughout his set, unlike some of his sets where he ends up going all over the place. I think with PVD it's all about where you catch him and what mood he's in that night. Sometimes he'll play the same set that I've already heard from a recently recorded club set, sometimes he plays waaaaaay to experimental, sometimes he's all over the place, etc...... That's what happens when you see a DJ 30+ times within a few years I guess.....
But back to the main point of the thread, I hope Insomniac has something good in the works, and I sure hope it's not at the NOS Center! |

| was a the paladium too. thought his set was aight... too banging for me. however, i am not a huge trance/pvd fan. I did enjoy the vibe of the party as it brought out a lot of old school folks and less ptots. |

| The Palladium set didn't do it for me but the one at Fluxx was pretty good. |

had to look this one up, laughed really ing hard:
| quote: | A 'prostitute-toddler'. More specifically, pre-teen girls who dress in skimpy, revealing outfits. Most commonly, they are found roaming their natural habitat: all-age raves.
Example:
Jon: "Did you see the ptot cuddle-puddle over there?"
Wally: "Hell yeah bro, I'm all in." |
ptot cuddle-puddle LOL
tbh though i think this would apply to most female pre-21 rave goers |

I loved PVD's first half of his Palladium set. Sounded very old school and started out very HARD. Than he mellowed out a bit but it was still good.
I'm actually kinda bummed out I'm not going to see him in Mexicali this weekend., so he better play here in LA for NYE. :(
 |

Interesting. That party used to be at The Mayan every year. So does that mean The Mayan is available? If so, Digweed should be there, not at Avalon!!!
