Hmm, I just assumed that PVD was going to do Insomniac's show; since they're the one who always books him in LA. So when he stated that he'd be in LA for NYE are you sure that was he referring to TAO and not Insomniac's event? That would suck........

I know for a fact he was going to play for go ventures TOA, i do not know if go ventures and insomniac were still planning on throwing TOA together until the Armin monster massive thing went down. There are other things I know but I am not willing to talk about in public but none of them are too reverent. Last I heard it was completely up in the air to where he was going to play but it was supposed to be in the states for sure.

At this point, promoters and event planners who are going to spend money on a show already has their budget planned out and the people who are going to shows have pretty much decided where they will go. It wouldnt make sense for someone to book an artist like PVD at this point unless you were insomniac trying to promote the new name of your party white wonderland so I have high hopes.

I have been holding out for NYE for awhile now for PVD. If PVD doesnt happen stateside for NYE then I guess I will just go to NYC for a 3rd year in a row :(

Insomniac are starting to go by reputation alone and sure they were able to get by on it the past 2 years but eventually people are going to realize, especially the older crowd, that every one of these events is just a rehash of the one before it. Same 20 or so artists, same ty decor, same stupid Wonderland theme, same E-tards, same cuddle puddles, same speaker problems, same VJ productions, same security being shady, same drug overdoses, same costumes chicks wear, and the same feeling as you leave after every event saying this will be your last massive.

Ok cool, thanks for the info. With only a month to go it makes sense that his options elsewhere would be very very limited at this point.
If he isn't booked in LA I just can't see him being booked anywhere else in the U.S. at this point. I guess we just need to keep our fingers crossed.......

He plays a good mixture of everything these days (house, electro, trance, prog, etc.). Depending on where and when you catch him, his set may be more or less "trancey" than when you last saw him. Not that that's a bad thing. He still brings it hard and delivers high energy sets; unless you catch him on an off night then all bets are off. It hasn't happened to me in a while though.....

Disagree - I think Insomniac, unlike GoVentures and Giant, has actually been stepping up the quality of their large events. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's a lot better run. They got rid of glowstick sales at the events, which I think has made a big impact on the rave-ness of them. Sure, there are still problems, but I would say I've seen improvement.

Insomniac is bringing in Fedde Le Grand to play Music Box on NYE... (he's also in SD the same night).
