Let's be honest, either we use the event section, or we all come back on the front page.
The roll call thing is just a cheap way to post in both sections.
Malek do your job.
The main page looks like a copy of the event section. |

with all due respect martin you really can't go off telling malek to do that. You have a thread about black out and use it to post every black out event that is coming
that is kind of a cheap way to post in both sections as well.
im not trying to start something over here i just think its kinda hypocritical thats all
Hope your recovery went well and you are back on track |

Not at all!
The Black Out topic was started a year ago to announce the WHOLE SEASON, 5 months. Not 1 event.
I kept all Black Out promos, live recording sets, flyers and reviews in 1 topic for the whole year. No one can accuse me of spamming here.
It has 22000 views and 14 pages. so comon, it hardly is a 1 night promo trick
If I was being hypocrital I would have let go that topic and start rolling each month. People don't even read it anymore. |

As recently stated by Malek, roll call thread are permitted within seven days of the event.
To speak to my own recent thread along these lines, the promoter had not listed it in the events section. I have nothing to do with the event, other than hopes to see an artist I respect gain some followers, as well as expose some readers here to some music they may find that they enjoy. |

| the roll call threads are part of the forums, don't see how its a problem unless the entire forum is full of them which is not the case |

An easy solution to all this nonsense is having the threads posted in the events section simultaneously viewable in the main mtl section (kind of like when you click on the 'canada' sub-forum, you are able to see the threads posted in the regional sub-forums).
IMO it makes more sense having just one thread per event, with all the ticket info, hating, trolling, roll calls etc all rolled into one. |

| I think that there just happens to have been a couple more than normal lately. No real reason to think about changes unless it continues to be an issue imo. |
