I figured we should do something fun like the mid-season gift exchange last year. Whoever wants to participate puts their name in the pot and commits to giving a gift!!!. It's so annoying when people suddenly withdraw after they were supposed to give a gift. We can have a week to put our names in, so the deadline is Friday, December 2nd, 2011.
In my mind, after the list is formed there are two options for how to do this:
1. Randomly sort the list, and in the order it's listed, people will give a gift to the person below them and receive a gift from the person above him.
Sample list:
tubularbills
weinerschnitzel
renzo
tbills -> weiner -> renzo-> tbills
2. Randomly separate people into pairs to exchange amongst themselves.
Or there's always the third option: hatehatehate
Adam sent me some awesome stuff last year, and sending him tasty Kentucky beer was quite amusing. Is anybody interested in this? Which option would you rather choose for gift giving?

It would be more sensible to group people by country/region, then mix them up.....maybe...
Although, I'm against that idea, because the only people from England who will probably do this, will be Ian and myself....... and he'll send me an exploding, rotten fish.
Perhaps a budget would be the wisest option, one that everyone could adhere too. I'm not sure if this was what happened in the previous one, though. |

I'm in. Let's be sure to get this done this time around. Last year it was a great idea and a lot of people signed up, but not too many people followed through. I got paired with some chick who never responded to my pms so I was left out in the cold when i woulda liked to participate hahaha
as for international shipping - i had the same thought the other day. I think that we could either group by country/region OR if that's just not gonna work and somebody will have to be grouped with someone a world away, the two of them could figure it out through some online retailer. The gifts wouldn't be as personal that way, but could be alright nonetheless. Best is to group em properly.

No, I don't think so. I don't think you were on the fence about it, and you posted more frequently. I can't remember who I got, and I'm not gonna dig through pms now, but it was somebody who didn't post all that often. I think she just started posting again around that time. Anyway, I pmd to get details. She responded like 3 weeks later seeming up for it, but on the fence, and then never responded again. Hahaha.
