Im just after a few quick tips on how to get rid of muddiness.
The only condition is that I want the kick to have as much bass as possible.
Any help would be great, cheers. |

Cut and shelve the EQ on the kick.
Cut the decay on the kick.
Cut the EQ on the bass-line to no lower than 80 Hz, and shelve that to taste, too.
Use a narrow Q around 250 Hz and lower until that thumpy, muddy sound is gone. |

Basically what Eddie said.
Just make sure your actual bass isn't in its way, and if it is, cut the frequencies and/or sidechain. If your kick is low I would have your bass sitting higher anyway. Don't do crazy boosts with the eq. |

| Keep a minimal amount of stuff in the low to mid range - not too little or then your track wont sound as warm... |

| I like how he's trying to make your legitimately useful post seem less helpful by posting something completely useless. |

| I like how he's using Zilker's own methods against him. There's just short of a million posts here on this forum that explain the same thing, thus reply 86. And it makes the answer just as valuable as all the topic 86 posts too. |
