What is TOTA's 2011 Track of the Year?

So its near the end of the year... If you could pick one or two tracks that defined this years sound/evolution in house/trance, what would they be?

What do you think 2012 has in store for us??

This Year:
From what ive seen, in the last 12 months theres been a shift from boring Toronto tech house (which is still overly prevalent) towards the more eclectic sounds of Maetrik/Maceo Plex, Lee Foss, Azari&III. Tech House is now the mainstream, and Nu-Disco/educated house is the forefront of the underground scene..

The 128 bpm norm, became the 126bpm norm, which is now becoming 122bpm... interesting change. Even at my own gigs, crowds are much more receptive of the slower stuff than ever before.

I dont listen to trance so I don't really know whats happening in that scene.

Next Year:
Like every music cycle, the underground becomes mainstream and gets beaten to death. I see the same names listed above getting over played and spewing many more copy cats... Deep down im hoping that 2012 is the year that deep dark progressive finally comes back in vogue.

For me, hands down this was the hands down the track of the year. Fresh sounds, new talent rapid departure from the norm.

In a close second its pretty much anything by Midland. His deep sounds with a progressive edge send chills down my spine.

Anyone else?

I really hope so man, I've been trying to push it and I got a pretty good reception at the last place I played at (I played Fiord, Dousk, Cid Inc, etc etc).

Anyways, for me, as you said, 2011 has been the resurgence of the deephouse/nu-disco sound. Lower bpm's are getting the groove on more than Toronto tech house nowadays which is a nice change. There were so many good tracks that came out this year I don't know where to begin... only to say that anything Maya Jane Cole produced in the last year has been an instant hit on the dancefloor and beyond. I think she had alot to do with her rendition of deep house or educated house as you like to call it that really pushed the transformation of dancefloors.

First track I heard from her was "What They Say", instant classic imo too. Not gonna post it since everyone and their mothers has heard it :p Haha found an interesting interview... I love it when she's like "I'm actually getting sick and tired of playing it" LOL
