Well I already have, and I completely forgot what it sounded like. And listening again, I can understand why. Why is this track supposed to be impressive? It sounds like a percussive intro that never turns into anything. There are about five elements in the whole track, most of them just rehashes of hip-hop/electro staples from a billion prior tracks. Same with Glamourama - three or four stock drum machine sounds arranged in a totally linear beat. Add a bassline and spoken sample and you have yourself a production-line techno track. Sounds like something made in 1988.

it's nice that you can describe all this stuff but it doesn't matter how simplistic the track is sample and arrangment wise, what matters is the feeling that is created by it

You make it sound like there's no connection between the sounds and their arrangements in a piece of music and the feeling that is created. If there's no attempt to explain how or why a piece of music appeals to us (or doesn't) there is no "music discussion", there's just a procession of Youtube embeds. Ultimately, none of these tracks make me feel anything at all. It's almost as if they're supposed to sound sterile, and yet that flies in the face of the connotations of the cover art.

and also there are things like personal tastes, musical backgrounds and differences in perception :)
that's why discussing these things is like talking about eternity, there is no universal approach, everything's subjective and all that

Probably missing some of the characteristics you are looking for but this one has been one of my favorites.

you guys notice that this track sounds like a prototype for today's sound? (that particular combination of big kicks, noise sweeps, and spaciousness.)
don't really have time at the moment, but i'll be able to post a few similar tracks later on.
