Heya Nightshift,
Why haven't you approached another label with these? Is it that the label you signed to still owns them. Get them to sign a contract release agreement.
That said, I am not complaining, always great to be able to download kwolity music for free. :)
Cheers

well #1: its because using this approach could make these tunes stretch out a while before them re-releasing (maybe even a year+) since most are remixes. i'd have to go through the original artist and see if they'd like to re-release, then find a label who would like to release, redo contracts etc. & all of this is time consuming and a headache imo.
#2: i'd rather the public have these tunes for free anyway, because as you said "always great to be able to download kwolity music for free" - and i agree with this whole heartedly! plus it supports and reps the original artists names! with that said, more free music in the future! i will just update this post as it happens :D
moreover, its great to have your support Nem! its much appreciated and i hope youre doing well with your journey through music :) |

I finally got around to listening to these the other day and really liked what I heard. It's quite a bit of good work.
My only negative criticism is a lack of consistency as some of your best work seems to be with the remixes. That said, I did enjoy listening to all of them. Excellent mixing and a clean overall feel made studying a little less of a chore. Well done.
EDIT: Just noticed the last comment - hope everything is okay. |

Thank you, things have been so-so, alot of the whiplash just started to kick in a few days ago so theres been a quite a bit of pain and discomfort the last few days.
But i feel you about consistency, & i dont know. ive been producing 8 1/2 years and stuck to trance/prog for 5 of them, then started going to EDM events and really pursuing the DJ thing as well, so i dont really aim to have a consistent sound or feel. i understand the disadvantages of it but im influenced by so many things that i cant just do one genre or one sound or one feel anymore, not after clinging to trance for so long. i feel theres just so much to explore.
The plus side is that there is and will be alot of diversity in my music and im perfectly fine with that :)
@msz - thanks for checking them out regardless if they ar e things you would normally listne to or not, maybe one of these days i'll make something thats down your alley :D |

I wasn't so much getting at a stylistic consistency as much as I was speaking to a qualitative one. Not that I'm dissing any of the tracks, per se. It seemed to be the case, that when you had a definitive structure you were following while remixing someone else's track, you had a better grasp at developing remixes; more-so than some of your original work. There's also the fact that these tunes were each finished/released over a period of time, so my remark may have a lot to do with a developing continuum.
That said, I can't say I was as good as you are when I was 8.5 years into the production bug. Furthermore, your work is good enough for me to withdraw from any pissing contest about who's a better producer between you and I.
:toothless
I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more of your work and, if you have any DJ mixes up, would love to hear those, too. |
