great thread man. we need more like these on here to balance out all the promo...
1. shirtless hairy dudes who are all sweaty
2. asians who r all ******ed on mdma knocking into me
3. anyone w a whistle
4. ole ole ole ole... this isnt a hockey game stfu
5. annoying MCs who say things like "What?" "Pump it!" "Who wants to get laid tonight?" "w00t w00t" etc
6. girls invading the DJ booth who spend more time posing for the crowd than dancing.
7. in a top 40 club girls dancing in the booth is acceptable but only if theyre above 8/10 or 9/10
8. in an afterhours/big party ABSOLUTELY NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED IN THE BOOTH. let the dj focus on the music
9. being near the side of the dance floor and having to take pauses every 20 seconds to let someone pass by... not cool
10. ppl too ed up on drugs to even know where they are so instead they keep knocking into you and your friends...
11. anyone who wants to be rude on a dancefloor should GTFO and STFU. if i kindly say excuse me and you give me a dirty look then youre a ing moron. we all need to share the space. it's too bad i see this sort of behaviour from young people cuz it's not how i was raised |

oh man...this thread is perfect for the book i want to write...i'd call it "behind the decks: the life of the djs girlfriend..."...the i'd have to say in there...from all the i've seen, read and heard, instant best-seller lmao :p
sooooooo max, even when the DJ wants certain people (ie: tour manager, girlfriend, boyfriend, friends from the city u're in, entourage, posse, hookers, whatever, etc) in the booth, the owner of the club should say "sorry, not a single person is allowed in here except you"...ya, that'll work. come on :p i hope you were just talking about complete randoms...and in that case, i completely agree.
personal pet peeves:
-close talkers: (especially at stereo; the system is so good that u don't need 2 be 2 millimetres from my face to talk...just stfu in general, or ask me if i wanna go outside to have a smoke and talk.
-set recording demanders: chances are, if the set was recorded, it definitely wasn't for your ears (unfortunately).
-VIP demanders: NO, you cannot have a damn VIP stamp. enjoy yourself for now, maybe later when it's not so packed upstairs you can try again...stay downstairs for now, you ing annoying person. (sounds harsh, but i'm only half kidding :p) how many fkn nights i've dealt with this...there's a bouncer that will be happy to answer your VIP demands...i don't work there, don't ask me.
-sunglasses sharers. no, you cannot try mine on. it's not my problem that you didn't come prepared.
-smoking cigs and weed/throwing water bottles/spitting/spitting out their gum or candy on the ing dancefloor, the most sacred of all places. if i wasn't 5'2", i would have smacked some of those completely disrespectful new comers...were you not properly raised? and why hasn't a ing bouncer thrown you out yet?
-bouncers that are on a power trip, yet don't do their job, and try to make you feel at wrong. way too many of these in mtl.
-chanters (ole, DJ, go, the roof, woot woot, etc)
-ppl that pitch after parties when they are chewing off their ugly faces (true story)...and refuse to take "no" for an answer, even if they've been refused and dismissed over 10 times.
-photographers. i'm not 16. i don't wanna pose and i'm probably a lil too tipsy to even attempt looking fabulous. and the flash borderline gives me a seizure.
-free-drink beggers. no, i'm not gonna pour you a drink from the DJ's bottle. do i look like a bartender waiting to be tipped?
so many more...

im not talking about in the booth overall but more in that specific area between the djs monitors
it isnt cool. if ur on the sides or behind, id say, 2 steps in every direction of the dj then its welcomed but when a dj is trying to mix and he has 4 big in his face its a little distracting no?
but yes of course his/her "crew" is allowed in the general booth area |

i dunno where u're partying man, but it is so extremely rare to see a dj at stereo w/ in his face, being annoyed and distracted. that is somewhat controlled...but then again, i'm talking about 1 club...there are more obviously...
but ya, between the 2 monitors is a no-no, for everyone, at all times. |

I was there with him LOL.. it was like 1:15 and there was NO one on the dance floor so Mike went down to stand behind the CD wallet/bottle service table thing.. went down with him, we nodded to her quick quick and stood back just watching. We weren't talking, didn't speak to her at all, I was just stoned and really watching her mixing techniques.. about 4 minutes later she turns around and says "Are you guys going to stand there the whole night?" with her accent in a stern tone, so I said "We didn't mean to bother you.. I'm sorry!" And we left hahahaha. I wasn't standing in the booth with her, guess she doesn't like being watched? She's so German hahaha. From that moment Mike wanted to have sex with her, he fell in love. Even though she's built like a linebacker hahahaha.
She played such an awesome set too. I listened to 2 of Nic's tracks and bounced. |
