I know you're not, it's just I've been seeing these types of comments for a while now (not only on TA) and it gets tiring. I talk to Boo a lot and I have to say she's one of those people in the industry who has her heart in the right place and just wants to have good events with top acts that everyone can enjoy.

Unfortunately, there is a lack of mid-capacity venues in the city thanks to your mayor that all you NYers helped to get elected.

I have met Boo for the first time this weekend and I have to agree with Chaska on this one. She's one of the nicest people I met and it's quite obvious she's doing A LOT for this scene by helping throw great parties.

I haven't heard much about this Steve Lawler situation yet but I am curious if he ended up playing @ Shelter last night...

I've always had a good time at district and Lawler was great both Halloween and NYE. I'm disappointed district is ing up so badly it has a lot of potential. I thought they had gotten their together after the whole opening fiasco but apparently not.

I did get really annoyed when I found out they had booked an open bar NYE party RIGHT before Lawler. I had heard doors were opening at 130 am because they DIDNT want to do an open bar so imagine my surprise when a bunch of my friends last minute were able to find cheaper tickets to get in to District as early as 9pm for a premium open bar until 2 am and then could stay for Lawler. It snuck on their web site last minute but they didn't even mention it on facebook. It also meant that by the time we did get in at around 230, the whole place was ing disgusting. I was dancing in puddles of champagne, streamers and most likely, vomit. They could have at least taken 20 minutes to clean the floor in between parties.

Lastly, didn't JP just cancel his residency with them also? Does anyone know why?

He cancelled? I was under the impression they cancelled.

Any updates from Steve in regards to what happened?

JP cancelled with them. not the other way around. and now Lawler also stated after his D36 NYE gig he will never be playing there again either. something is going down there with how theyre running events.

Didn't they over Dave Clarke for a hip-hop party?
Neonbeats
Yes. The list of people they've ed over and pissed off is pretty long. It can't be that hard to run a club....I mean c'mon

tell that to their managment lol i think that's the problem

there bookings have improved over the past few month's but lets face it they are on very shakey grounds with some dj's/promoter's

blkmarket,jp,dave clarke,lawler,calderone etc etc

as for the venue itself, everytime i went the crowd has always been more mature and less like the regular's who go to pacha
and call me crazy but i still feel the system is too powerfull
too much bass, def needs to be tweeked around

don't forget sasha, he got the first taste of d36's f**kery.

they do tweak the sound i think. Sometimes its fine and other times it feels like the bass is punching me in the throat. It was fine for Lawler. I think it also depends on who's playing.. Claude von Stroke tweaked it himself when he was there, one of the bartenders was complaining about it ::shrug::
