Heyy, pleasantly surprised by this as a first track. Correct me if I'm wrong but this sounds like zek's neck of the woods?
I suggest you cut out a few kicks just before dropping the first vocal around 1:30 as a short breath before the track's first take off.
1:48 -> pure cheese. Both the instrument and its rhythm. There is a sound that shows up just before it at 1:46 that I do like. 4:15 yes yes yes to character! And yes to the teaser! None of the drops give me tingles... try working on that drop oomph.
Another small cut or two as you wind down, please.. help the DJ bring in the next one nicely ;)
I don't agree that it needs more melodic elements to go somewhere, or that it should necessarily go somewhere other than this. There's great value, especially in long afterhours sets, in tracks that just steady and sustain the atmosphere after a dip or before a bomb/moment track. Bombs are useless without these sorts of tracks before them that sneak up you and you forget to look up till you've been dancing through a couple, and THEN it's bomb time!
I'm no expert but I say good job. |

Marcus,
Im using Ableton 8. I have tons of VST synths but find them to be useless when making tech for the most part. The track is not mastered. Hell its not even finished yet. It is missing a sound which i hear in my head but am not able to create it. not sure how i will do that lol. i did add a couple Ableton master presets to the main just b4 rendering to give it some beef. But its not a professional job i would hvae to send it in to get mastered properly. This isnt really my first track by the way, iv been working on beats for over a year now. Hoping to finally get something released. I find recently iv got much better. By the sound of your track your not far off. So stick to it. Ask the questions!! It sounds like your on the right track.
cheers
