Help with making my tracks longer...
View this Thread in Original format
OOPS!
I've noticed my songs generally fall into the 2-3 minute area and I'm looking to make them longer. Say around 4-5 minutes. I always look to make them this length but it seems that I either become uninterested in continuing on or lack ideas to add to the track. Has anyone else shared this problem and can perhaps help me out, as I'm looking to improve as a producer. Thanks.

Make you loops twice as long. Boom! You've multiplied your track length.

Problem solved.

Come up with ideas that don't get stale after 3 minutes?

Really, I don't know how you expect us to answer this, especially without linking to a track or something so we can hear why your songs are so short.

Take the song below me for example, great song structure...

Kysora
What do you want us to do with that?

How about a link to one of your tracks, OOPS?
JEO
OOPS, he did it again.

some songs are just not meant to be long

Here's an idea. Find a track. Import it into your DAW. Then take the beat of your track and mirror what that other track does. From there, build your track around it. Problem solved.

I do that all the time. But it just never pans out the way I want it to :\ Just sounds like a cheap rip off.

Yeah I know. But I'm tired of people telling me my songs are good but too short. It's annoying after awhile
