| I think a healthy relationship's natural state is those few months at the beginning when everything is fireworks, but after that when things inevitably wind down that's when you're normally supposed to part ways. Most people don't have the courage to let go (even if it's in everybody's best interest) so they hang on to that fleeting thing as long as possible until one party rejects it. People are changing all the time it's silly to expect to evolve in the same ways as someone else so you remain compatible together year after year. It's just not realistic for most people. |

I dunno, it definitely changes after the initial glow, but even if you look only at couples who have been together for a few years or more, I think there is a real difference between the ones who are enjoying it and the ones who are just gutting it out because they are afraid to change. There is definitely something there. Maybe you would say it is just friendship that remains with them... |
