Improvise around their looped music beds.

Using a keyboard or any other instrument, do you spend a lot of time just playing around with the keyboard, plinking out improvisations to see what fits.

Sorry: This is a repost. Apparently Multiple selections will not enable.

sometimes yes i like to lay out all my samples and loops ect then write the main riff/lead whatever over the top.
i find it makes for fast work flow and keeps me interested in music making.:whip: :whip:

yeah, love doing that. sometimes when I make slower tempo music I play everything by hand, gives it a lovely groove. and you definitely get different results by playing the keyboard because of limitations (skill, physical limits and so on)

not yet dammit!

but srsly, a lot of my releases carry my improvisations you should see the midi its not quantized at all. i dont really care and its marginable at best.

When I'm going thru the billboard charts, I usually play guitar piano or bass to make the activity bearable.

I never really found. Myself tying to figure out a hook over erhythmsectionwhen image EDM. Maybe when I replaced the scratch track , I would loop and do takes until itwaswhat I wanted.

no i just listen to the same loop over and over again till i get depressed then take a nap

I don't use loops AT ALL.
loops are for lame micro DJ'ing wannabees

from time to time i improvise on the piano, sometimes i came up with beautiful melodies but rarely i convert them to the edm format, they are more like classical compositions.

Another thing i find funny is to play with the midi keyboard over finished tracks of other producers improvising arrangements with the synths , kinda live show, but never< tried it live because sometimes sounds like .

i got that a lot, playing brilliant (to my ears :D ) melodies, thinking "I really should press record now and work this out" but then not doing that and just continue to play till i need to do something else and then it's gone.
