I wanted to get some decent speakers to listen to music while I relax. I don't really need anything great. Loud enough so that if people are over, i mean it won't be a dance party but loud enough so that it can be heard. Also want stereo setup and amp.
Any thing that sticks out ? I/m not an audiophile and the music quality is not that important. I mean as long as it sounds good enough. And i don'nt want to pay for things i will never use like digital 7.,1 amplifyer. I just want a stimple stereo amp and speakers. |

| Back in the days when I used to drool over and purchase separates I always swore by a simple 40W Nad amp and a decent pair of Tannoys. That was 20 years ago though! |

Few years ago I would definitely recommend Rotel and B&W speakers (what a sweet setup) really like it and was pleasing my ear for long time but it was pricey and I guess by now you can find something a bit newer (may not be better lol)

the thing about those all in one players is that they have such a small stereo image and they always are either underpowered, or overpowered and look like some future claymore mine to take out a hord of zombies.
I think i might actually just go to a pawn show and find some old stuff. It is important how it looks as the girlfriend will not let me have it in the living room if it doesn't like go with the blinds. |

Lol, if my wife let me keep them in our living room then you are save lol, she doesn't like any cables to seats on the floor but she didn't mind speakers by itself, so can you imagine me having speakers and not being able to listen to them? (because I couldn't have any cables lying on the floor lol) --> it was painful.

we have a an upright in the room which she uses to teach a few students. And the the top end is really resonant in a bad way. And the floors are wood. So i thought i was surprize her and bought some really nice panelling, nothing crazy. Just a few a quality pieces. But it was expensive.
anyways, she gets home. And freaks out. So i ended up buying that cheap foam and shoving it in the soundbox of the piano. lol. Thats fine. I mean the piano isn't great but it wasn't cheap and she has no issues about shoving foam inside that instrument. But , if something doesn't match the blinds. I even wanted to set up this lcd display for he so that she could access music or stuff for students or herself. Sort of how i have in the other room as we have a grand in the actual music room which she won't use because it doesn't have a nice view.
And she was like, what the is this. So instead of that, she puts some ing abstract ar piece sculpture on top. Like it is so hideous.
lol , i've learned to just stay the away from anything that has anything to do with home decorating. |

| but we aren't married even. She is just nutters about appearance. My shoes have to go in the closet because they are nice enough. I mean honestly, for men, a show is a shoe. You have black shoes, and then you have some semi casual , shoes, and a pair of runners which you would have in the closet. Meanwhile, princess leia has a monopoly on the shoe shelf with her shoes that could feed a small african village for a century. And i'm no decorator but they don't match the paint. But beggars can't be chosers. I mean i am like a b version brad pit but I never shut up and sometimes annoy myself. All my other relationships have ended pretty much the same, we need to talk, you don't listen enough. ... .well do you have anything to say about what i just said ..... um ya, check your email, your services are no longer required. I mean not as harsh or cool but you get the idea. |

| yes but i will pander to the kids and make allies. Strength in numbers. Unless we have girls. then i'm pretty much dunkirk-ed. |
