They play them on the radio here in LA. They also made a load of mashups from their songs. The mainstream crowd goes crazy for them. I think that's what he meant.

Sorry, I don't. I believe it was posted on facebook or twitter 6+ months ago (which is why I don't have it anymore). Someone from the somethingawful forums also says there are only a few thousand.

If I find my source I'll be sure to send it your way :)

While I agree that Daft Punk playing anytime soon is skeptical at best. As for the tinnitus issue, you do know they toured in 2006-2007 right? He developed the tinnitus in 2002.

what does that have to do with anything? oh i guess since they toured for a while they should just keep on doing it to make his ears worse? :conf:

when you buy a tent camping pass - does that include a parking spot? damn it, i have so many questions.. why are the freaking coachella boards down for maintenance still!

Well just stating facts because you sound so sure of yourself. If he really cared that much he wouldn't have played in 06-07. It's not like they can't find a way to cut out all the noise so it won't kill his hearing. It's Daft Punk, they have robot led light up heads. I'm sure they can make it where he only hears what he needs to hear in an acceptable volume.

As for the celebrity thing, no matter what they do, they are superstars. More-so because they don't tour constantly. It adds that forbidden fruit factor to their mystique. Everyone wants (to see) what they can't readily have.

So I'm currently debating on how many extra week 1 passes I should buy.....

3-4 extra? and 3-4 extra car camping passes?

There are two areas - there's an area you can just camp at but not bring your car, and there's a car camping area where you park you car in your space.

If you're driving in, do car camping. If you're not driving, don't. :)

And the coachella boards are down because they are upgrading it to a new forum system.

Depends. i think weekend 1 will be the traditional crowd (people who bought tickets the day they went on presales/layaway), and I am expecting weekend 2 to be largely a crowd that wants to see afrojack and guetta and those types of commercial house music acts. it may be part of the reason why they booked them, I don't know. I am thinking that maybe they were worried weekend 2 was going to bankrupt them?

Passes go on sale THIS Friday, January 13th, 2012 at 10:00am Pacific Time. Please visit the NEW http://www.coachella.com to get familiar with the types of passes available. After a successful layaway offer in June, the only festival pass left for Weekend 1 is the GA Festival Pass/Shuttle Pass Combo. All passes are available for Weekend 2. LAYAWAY IS NO LONGER AN OPTION FOR EITHER WEEKEND.

Well... looks like I might end up selling my weekend 1 pass and going weekend 2...

as for credit card - yo no tengo. you really think it'll sell out this fast? i was thinking that it wouldn't.. lol

hey no one is pointing a gun at your head and forcing you to pay for tickets! i just simply want to get the best deal possible. im not the only one going for free. if the lowest price for a good or service was $1,348 then i'd want to pay $1,348. I don't ask merchants to charge me MORE....

could ask one of the people you're going with to buy your ticket and then pay them cash at end of month. they'd have the money in their hands before the credit card payment would be due.
you should look into getting a CC, paying cash is for suckers.

look up my chase rewards visa, you will get $200 CASH BACK if you spend $500 in the first 3 months.

a couple things...

My best friend is selling 3 weekend one tickets... I'm sure he'll cut a deal for all three...

Me and my two friends are looking to get a house for like $2,000-$3,000 Thursday - Monday for weekend one...something that sleeps 6-8 or 8-10, with pool, grilling, etc... we're all in our early 30's and house/tech/minimal/techno heads. Looking for additional peeps to join to help split costs... must be fun, party, late 20's early to mid 30's and like similar music.

Send PM for ticket and or house inquire.

Best,
Jake
