I like where Osheaga is headed, attendance numbers have been great.. I met a bunch of people from the States and Ontario.
It'll never be as big as Coachella though. I did Lollapalooza in 2009 and it was epic.. I'd like to do Coachella one day. |

| it could if montreal would allow the sound levels to increase, you are not allowed to go over 80DB outdoors hence the reason why you can't do big major outdoor festivals |

| oshega has adapted the same "appeal to everyone" booking model that Coachella has. It worked last year with record attendances for the weekend. It already is working, it just will never be on the same scale because Montreal will never be LA. The most impressive thing about Oshega this year is that they got the great numbers so close to the huge U2 thing. Montreal will probably not see another concert of that magnitude for at least a decade, the fact that the people came to support the other festival right after shows how much fun this city and it's people can be in the summer months. It's pretty rare to get that kind of support in a city of this size. |

| The real story of that event poster is to see how much the EDM scene has transformed North America where all of the major DJs are just a prime slot away from completely taking over the festival. Besides the headliner for each three days you can see that 80%+ of the secondary mentions are EDM artists. This is absolutely huge and telling where everybody is heading. Expect the EDM scene in 2012 to truly hit the mainstream. This could be a great thing and also have some bad but I am excited to see it all unfold. |

| Yes but not to the same extent as you can compare the 2011 poster to the 2012 one you can see that the EDM lineups have slowly but surely inched closer to top billing for all three days. But you do have a strong point when you compare 2012 to 2010 where you can see that EDM also has the same prominence as this year. In 2009 though EDM acts were barely featured. |

jay you are right but osheaga has been doing it for a while now and the city is friendly friendly so they are allowed to got a some headroom on the sound. if a new organization was to come in there is no way they would grant more then 80 db which does not make for a good event :P thats all im saying |

the EDM scene went truly mainstream when david guetta met akon. every rnb and pop artist is singing on house records, djs are selling out madison square garden, erikson globe and brixton academy. The Top 40 is 3/4 house beats, it doesnt get more mainstream than this. |
