I haven't seen much about this guy although I discovered him a few years ago. His productions are beyond pure class. Listen to some of these:

His more deep-house oriented productions under the alias "Tread":

Hiroshi is one of my favorite producers ever. His tracks(I mostly know Kaito ones) have awesome atmospheres going on, but not in the usual 4x4 fashion. This man is pure class when it comes to creating these.

Sometimes i just wonder if his tracks are made as ambient tracks, with drums added later.
If you can find it, listen to his album Hundred Million Love Years. Amongst other great tracks there is a version of Soul of Heart. Unlike the single release of this track, here it is an identical composition, but minus all the drums.

Here are some great Kaito tracks:

(Mislabeled, it's Peace of Landscape)

Hehe, I think that was the first album I ever heard from him. Only recently discovered he had literally tons of material spread under different aliases.

RA don't seem to appreciate his music too much, but then again they're jaded beyond the point of saving. Maybe if Sasha s another progressive album they might consider taking the genre seriously again.

also a fan, really love the Genesis album and the Klik Records Tribute

I don't really like his work as Kaito, too fluffy and relentlessly happy for me. The Echospace remixes from last year were fantastic, but obviously that's down to Echospace, not Kaito.

I have heard a bit of his most recent album (Sync Positive) and it sounds pretty good, though. Could be one of the better albums of 2011.

Watanabe really does not make progressive.

I've discovered the sounds of Kaito while I was listening to an old set by The Orb (@ the Global DJ Broadcast, somewhere around 2003 I think).

This is brilliant:

Big misconception from my side then. What would the genre be called?
Watts
I've always been a fan. I have a nite system record that is really good. Probably my favorite from him.

Techno, if anything. There was a spell when this soft, melodic stuff (particularly his Kaito alias and anything related to Kompakt) was being labelled "neo-trance". But generally I think this guy exists outside of specific scenes or movements. Not everything fits into a genre.

Hmm, that's interesting. Needless to say, it does lack the drive that is found in progressive house but it's easy to get lost in the rhythm :P.

..and if we would classify it as techno, it's the kind that is found outside of the regular spectrum.

Hiroshi is one of the best producers ever in the scene. 10-12 years ago his "Nite System" alias was supreme. Now I prefer him as Kaito but it doesnt matter he's just a genius.
