Maybe keep the genre (or two) tight and keep it simple.
Say a trance track at 138bpm, and/or ambient and downtempo at no fixed bpm.
Or whatever. |

I already started a track at 129bpm, 4x4 tech house:whip: Spent last night making and recording the analogue lead parts so I can't now change tempo!
I got excited and couldn't wait, sorrryy - is this ok?

| nope. The point is to level the playing field. And not everyone is going to be allowed to participate so i really would not waste your time until i've put things down on paper. In particular, those that have a certain number of releases will not be eligible. As always, it is the semi noob - semi pro crowd that I am trying to motivate. |

the other contest i did was pretty explicit in how i would try to be fair. So a headstart is not fair and you have no idea what sort of requirements i might make. And there has to be enough people interested for me to make the investment as last time i did this, it took alot of time.
this is just a preliminary census i suppose as to what people would find cool and not cool in a contest. ie not cool would be something that is rigged for the few already pro producers on here to win.
Ideally , i am looking for people like Kysora, talented , broke and needs some bum massaging. |
