I think he was a part of a really good time in electronic music, even though I was not old enough to be in the scene yet.
The song that sticks out most to me was The Lonely Traveler Remix of Scared. The first time I heard it listening to an old Sasha mix I immediately rewound the set a couple of times to enjoy the breakdown a couple more times.
Twitter really lit up with John Digweed, Jody Wisternoff, Sasha, Markus Schulz, Nick Warren and others mentioning it. Only Nick Warren seemed to possibly be privy to the facts as via Facebook he alluded to it being something preventable: "Very very sad to hear that Shem aka Slacker passed away.he was a lovely guy and it is a lesson to all of us to stay in touch and look after your friends"
Obviously when you die at a young age in Bangkok there are always questions...

I don't think we should jump to conclusions even if it looks fishy. For all we know he could have been vacationing and had a sudden heart attack. Just saying.

He wasn't on vacation there, he lived in Asia for quite a while. He said that it helped him to literally rediscover himself and was also highly influential when he worked on "Start a New Life".

Or he could've had a car accident after having a tough time, for example.
I agree we shouldn't start guessing wildly without any evidence.
