This is gonna end up 3 kinds of performances:
1) MPC based producers (Araab Muzik, Jeremy Ellis, etc)
2) Hip Hop style turntablists
3) Cutaways of people trainwrecking
That's if it even makes it past the pilot... |
You are also forgetting Controllerist. (Ean Golden, Moldover)

To answer your question, yes. DJ Shiftee is well known and is pretty awesome at what he does.
I am in favor of a performance type of show rather than someone mixing intro >breakdown. That would be the worst show ever. Beatmatching is no big deal and anyone can do it. What would be the point to prove if someone can beatmatch records? |

No, John, I completely disagree...let's hope not. Do you really want our weekends more flooded by people who watch shows like this? And our cover/ticket prices going up because of an increase in demand from those people? |

On one hand - of course you're right.
But on the other hand - it's a tough line to walk don't you think? Between thinking "wow these guys are amazing they really deserve more recognition for it" and "god i hope the scene doesn't get flooded" |

Recognition for what? They do what they love and get mad money for touring already. The ones that really do deserve it and work hard for it are recognised, why more? It is a subculture after all, please keep it that way.
Call me naive, but I still like to think djs/producers are artists, not prostitutes (although they can be huge sluts, lol). |
