I agree, his last set @ Mansion was a million times better than last night. Last night he basically played about 75% house with super hard basslines sped up to 140 bpms. And his set lacked any consistent progression, flow and build up of energy. After hearing Hawtin and all of the Minus crew demolish the Space terrace on Friday night/Saturday morning with beautifully structured sets, last night PVD paled in comparison ...

Hearing this makes me nervous. Going to go see him in about 4 weeks from now. Hopefully its not full of mainstream house..

I'm done with seeing PVD.

You guys need to purchase better ear plugs if you thought that was a bad set. His new sound will bring him back to the top.

In the spirit of trying something new during WMC, I stayed for Showtek. Never seen a set like that outside of Holland. Actually fit right with Tyas. Huge shame of what happened with the highly anticipated Kaeno and Denzo set.

i definitely did not think it was anything special. After the last show at Mansion, seeing him on new years, vandit night, and his february US mini tour I thought this was the worst of all of those. Kind of all over the place, he was trying a few new things with ableton and he is attempting to insert some of the more mainstream house kind of sound. Of course, I am a firm believer that a bad set from him is still better than what I can hear from anyone else.

his show at Pacha and Avalon was loaded with tracks from his new album but this show (which was billed as one of three albulm release parties) did not have many of his new tracks. He even neglected to play Dae Yor.

Some of my friends said it was a great set, I just didnt hear it.

Mansion last year was 100 x better than the show last night. It just didn't feel like an album release party. He played way more tracks off the album at Mansion. I had fun, but it was hardly a great set. Underworld 'Born Slippy', that 'Eternity' remix, 'Move for me' remix, Good Life, and that breaks transition were highlights for me. Playing TOOL 2 times in a set is just horrible. That track and 'Let Go' need to be retired.

Almost forgot...

I enjoyed hearing this too.

I can't stand Adam Young's voice on Eternity

man i was hoping he would be playing like his old(i have a few 2 new sets of his and he ripped it on those) self but judging by what you guys are saying and the fact that he played the same song twice, which isn't a new thing for him and for the life of me i cant understand why he does that...im depressed :(

Are you joking? When did you start listening to Trance buddy? Because that was a joke.

The setup sucked too, only good thing was the lights. The sound was horrible imo, the vibe just was not there at ALL. Anjuna setup was one million times better, along with the vibe.

I didn't even want to mention the sound because I didn't want to add insult to injury but I moved all over the place to see if the sound would be better but no luck. Honestly it was torture for me. I gave up on PVD years ago and went to give him another shot and was reminded why I stopped going to support him.
