I sometimes wonder what it would be like to be a writer or a scientist.

Well, speaking as a scientist who spends most of my day writing (and/or analyzing data), I will tell you that it is awesome. The chicks are lined up outside my office screaming and flashing me everyday, I have security follow me everywhere to keep the paparazzi out of my face, and people are constantly trying to give me free laboratory gear and pocket protectors in exchange for a photo opp. When I get home to my mansion, my wife and I roll around naked in piles of money while our servants feed us steak and lobster. It's far better than being a rock star.

thought so,

I was on the path of being a rockstar. But my brother went to college and well it fizzled. But when i think about it, i would of become a drug addict. i hate travelling and like i would of blown my head off before the second album came out.

There is something to be said about having a family tho. Music makes that hard. Like you aren't having a family till you are 40. I mean even just a relationship is hard.

Yeah, know that feeling, we started to travel (with my Hard-Rock group) a bit and didn't like that at that time, after that was girl and the dream was over lol.

Not really music related. Biggest change for me would be I'd stay the away from getting a job before graduating from university. That way I'd have graduated 5 yrs ago instead of in the next couple of months.

Musically speaking I can think of 2 things. I'd never would have quit those piano lessons when I was young. Second, I'd be more patient with signing my second release because I missed out on a good deal back then which could have opened many doors but I signed the track away to a small label an hour before I got the offer from the big one. Oh well, got like 100E out of it instead of a 1k advance + vinyl, lol.

As a writer who listened to "She Blinded Me With Science" a few too many times, I can say that you are either driving/flying to boring/exotic locales, talking to annoying/facinating people on any number of subjects you could care less about, accepting or turning down coke/hookers/Grandma's cookies for favorable article coverage and coming home to an indifferent cat that could care less if you are there or not. Then, while people go out and enjoy life, you sit in front of a keyboard and bang out verbage sure to piss off half your readership.

Then you regret not doing the hookers/coke regardless of the certainty of disease acquisition..

probably not to produce at all. i cant even go to sleep with certain types of electronica playing, i just find myself trying to analyze everything, cant turn it off; plus i love groove. le sigh.

This has been driving me nuts...Who is the woman in your avatar?

she totally has that meth smile in the avatar. I think its in the eyes. Every person i've ever known that went down that route has that weird smile. Like even if the teeth are fixed. You can still tell.

The reason I asked is that I used to work with a reporter who looked a lot like her...Strangely enough, she was Romanian also.
