ERROR!!! MIND NOT BLOWN :whip: :whip:

no, you have the equipment right, but it is YOU who doesn't have the genre right.

You should realize that few of us still listen to trance, and those who do don't tend to listen to stuff from the past 10 or so years (or more).

Dude you're ing thick. Of course I know Halcyon On+On, I've known it since about 1995. And it isn't trance. At all.

Well, I'm going to be blunt. The songs mostly suck. The list definitely has the look of something made by someone who has only recently gotten into it. And in fairness, it's not that recency alone is a good measure of music taste so much as the fact that you have come during a time when trance is, effectively, an extinct genre. "Ocean Rain" by Elevation is a bit of a surprising addition though, in that it's seven years old and considerably different from the other artists you mention. It's certainly one of the few decent ones. Anyway, it is what it is, so it wouldn't be fair or a good use of my time for me to just lambaste the hell out of this list all day. None of the songs you list are progressive in any way though, so I'm not sure why it's mentioned.

thanks for the feedback.
there are some other older tracks as well...... as far as I could tell, Anjunabeach is a progressive track... it's one of my favorites and I hope you don't dismiss it simply because it's by above and beyond.... who by the way-at least one of them is actually trained in music /piano... not something that can be said of for example armin van buuren..

If you're going to talk about such obvious track well then....we all heard them already.

I had to stop after listening to the first two. Make a poll and see if even 25% of members of this board would classify this as trance.....at all. Newsflash... The more notes in a melody does not equal more gorgeous melody, It does, however, successfully make it sound more like merengue..... Less is oftentimes more.

You can't be serious--like the guys who conned someone into buying beats headphones, .... where is your real list ;)

The music you refer to in that link is the pinnacle of cotton-candy flavoured fluffy tree-hugger trance imo.
However, I have to admid that I enjoyed similar tracks 7 years ago. Also, I concur that good EDM is often very simple structured.

Some suggestions for ya:

kadomony
man that Watson track is so good!
rdevito
I will suggest something for you, hyogen: Stop listen to Daniel Kandi, he is the worst producer ever all of his tracks are pretty generic, ing boring.....yes basically he is just a copy/paste producer.

As i can see in your list, almost every track is Uplifting wich in my opinion is the worst kind of Trance. Those EPIC and HUGE breakdowns are laughable, it seems all the people who listen to Uplifting/Epic Trance are just waiting for the drop after the breakdown....again, laughable.

However, i will suggest one 'recent' uplifting tune (from 2007 i guess) and i think it suits just fine for your taste:

But if you are looking for a breathtaking Epic/Uplifting feel i may suggest this:

PS: Arctic Moon sucks too. :p

...are you an etard? why would you even suggest non-trance examples in this tranceaddict forum??

if you're gonna go outside of trance, try songs that ANYONE could agree on are beautiful melodies... Debussy's Claire de lune? Beethoven's moonlight sonata? ever hear of them? your feathery-cotton-candy-tree-hugging-merengue-so-called-gorgeous-melodies paints quite a vivid picture of who you are in real life...goes well with your pretentious i'm-the- attitude.

do you see anywhere that suggests I'm trying to force bad music down anyone's throat or where i am trying to tout my taste as superior to anyone else's? take it or leave it. i really have yet to come across a friend or acquaintance who says they dislike the songs in my playlists whenever they have a listen. i highly doubt you can say the same...

let me preface this by saying that I enjoy classic trance, epic, anthem, progressive--but mainly uplifting trance. I seldom like trance with vocals...and I have a keen liking to simple and beautiful melodies...that blow me away from the first listen most of the time.

hope you enjoy. let me know if you like any of them in particular :) to me, these are daily necessities.

Did you just call Robert Miles - Children techno?
