I checked out canada computers but nothing is ever in stock on there. |

lenovos are good and they aren't huge. They are actually quite slim.
Usually PC laptops are quite bulky and have no portability considerations. The Lenovos will fit nicely in a messenger bag (15" models).
You'll be fine with those without having to lug around large machine. Also they will perform more than enough for the stuff you've requested. |

I picked this up online for Boxing Day for $479... it's $499 now. But before that it was $899 regular price. The same model brand new was $1100 on the HP site.

It's a refurb, but the specs are pretty impressive for the price.
The in thing has a tiny subwoofer! And the beats audio by dre or whatever that is. |

Good high end option
This will future proof you for the next few years. 1080p + 6gb ram = good for photoshop. The next step up would be an IPS display which is $$$
Cheaper mid option
Less ram (cheap to upgrade though), lower resolution (standard laptop resolution), still a wicked fast processor, bigger hard drive.
Both are asus, which is the hands down the best pc laptop manufacturer. |

You dont.. even refurbished macbooks with core2duos (old processor) are still going for 700-800. |
